I'd be very pissed off if we were seriously considering trading AW. We'd want to get a very, very good deal.

Make that 2. Would want to be an extremely good deal.

More beat up in here than in the press.

Still.... cops don't just go around pulling cars over willy nilly.... 99 times out of 100, you will have done something to attract their attention.

Six months ago, when Fev pissed on a window, this might've been a story... 'Selfish, arrogant culture at Carlton' is what they would have said.

Swann would have to defer to Ratten's decision on that one.

No need to be so sanctimonious guys!

Put it into perspective - he broke a road rule whilst sober & not speeding, btw he also played a blinder against Port and has been very good in his other games since returning from injury.

The Blues pay him to play footy & be a decent person, he does that really well & his offence isn't really that serious - if the courts thought it was they would have convicted him - the court chose not to. Surely that indicates that his defence was accepted.

Let's not get too hysterical.

*deleted* I don't think he like to be a Saint all the time. I don't know why he lost it in the first place, but if he was driving and not doing anything wrong except sticking it because of not paying a fine or something that was judged a bit harsh good on him.

The Cops are big liars some time .I believe they might be responsible for some serial murders here. I don't like them to much after one pulled a gun at me as a minor for having a drink at the park meeting girls doing no harm when i ran with my beer. I think it was all talk off course but saying that, that punk should have been dismissed and charged with a deadly weapon.

However, haven't we got someone at the club who could help with thsi sort of thing? Surely, there must be someone he can talk to, who could have steered him right. I thought Rod Ashman was there for this purpose.

Do you really think although a young guy would really listen to a old guy,no offence but they can't be Saints all the time,in fact most of this generation are very spoilt.

Driving the car to Court really got me. Made me laugh... seems a crazy thing to do.

I was giving evidence in a case in the Darwin court a while ago when I noticed some hectic police activity. Apparently in the court next door, a guy had lost his licence for the third or fourth time and walked straight out of the court, got in his car, did a burn out and took off driving up the road. Police gave chase, apprehended him and dragged him back to the same magistrate that he had appeared before only minutes earlier.

For some reason the judge was not all that impressed and handed down a rather severe penalty.

It was a minor offence in the scheme of things. He didnt hurt anyone or put anyone at risk. He faced the law, got punished. In the overall scheme of things, its nothing.

Looks like he's studied hard at the school of Mick and Eddie deflecting, and when that doesn't work, just sook about how unfair it all is.

to clarify a few things...

you cannot lose your licence for 28 days for getting too many demerit points. once you hit 12 points in any 3 year period, you get the 'option letter'. this gives you the option of either taking a 3 month suspension starting from 28 days from the date of the letter, or you can take a 12 month bond, also atrting 28 days later. if you accrue 1 single point in that 12 month period your suspension is doubled to 6 months.

to be issued a 1 month suspension, it is generally for a speeding offence in which you have been done between 30 - 34 kph over the speed limit.

if you get an 'on the spot' 1 month suspension, this takes effect 28 days after the offence unless you challenge it in court.

once you are in court, the decision is immediate.

and to put it into perspective, the fact that he was not speeding or drunk whilst driving suspended does not make it not so bad....

the reason he was suspended in the first place was that he had done the wrong thing on the road, potentially putting himself and others at risk.

i am by no means advocating a crucifixion, but i hate people glossing over or making light of these situations.

hope young Andrew takes stock of the seriousness of road safety. If he isn't maybe just consider the fact that similar idiot road behaviour has cost the lives of some 7 month olds....
