you know what flower bugs me, this has EASILY been santys best, most proven and consistent season, yet for some reason the perception seems to be that the clubs ambitions have over taken his, like all of a sudden we are "too good" for setanta..
this guys has moved to the other side of the globe and has made more sacrifices and given more to this club we love, day in and out that we could ever imagine.

yet he is our new "bitch".

this bloke has given us hope when there was no other reason to have some.
he has more true blue in him than 95% of us on here, myself included, but atleast i have the sence of self to know my place and admit that.

Setanta should be commended and applauded for having the coruage to make it this far, which is more than the most of us could ever dream of.

i hope he sticks it up all the soft as, wanna be prentenders who think they know better.

have a good hard look, you know who you are.

Amen to that... Well said

Exactly. I hope there is a good reason why our most useful big defender is AWOL.

You must be joking, I’m sure.

He can't be joking. We have no other defender tall enough to match resting ruckmen in their FP.

Do you remember how well Setanta was doing in the backline before he was needed in the ruck; what a waste of development time, let alone a waste picking up McLaren, Mott, Ackland and Cloke have been as ruckmen.

I think Setanta surprised a few this year, and has proven to be a good backmen against the resting ruckmen and gorillas.

In fact he is needed elsewhere in the backline other than on the resting ruckmen...give me Setanta on Jonathon Brown before any other of our defenders.

Well, regardless of where he is I hope he comes back fit and happy and ready to show up his detractors in 2009. :)

Carlos has 1 year to run on his contract.....I believe he has some issues to sort out but he is injured and will be back......The club will asses him like all others on the list at years end......No need to get all worked up....

Ive long said that Setanta will leave Carlton.

At the moment Id suggest that while nothing has been said to say that this will occur, I cant say that the current circumstances give me encouragement that Setanta will be at Carlton next year.

But I hope that he is.

Setanta would be my first choice for Jono Brown this weekend if all was well. I hope the situation with the Irish boys is not beyond repair.

For treatment on his calf injury...

As long as he's not being worked on by that Dr Gunther guy.

But..

But..

But the VFL boundary rider said he'd skipped town and couldn't be found. Surely Phil Cleary couldn't be wrong

Hope it works out: at least this does explain a bit of the Saga of the Missing Setanta as well.

Surely that does not mean we have to stop speculating about how much he and his brother are hated by Carlton hierarchy

That mean Setanta will be with us next year. I like the way he plays and in particular his aggression.

Just read an article in the Herald Sun online which said that Setanta is going overseas next week to visit the doctor that helped Max Rooke recover from his injury. Article quoted Steven Icke and said the treatment plan resulted from a meeting with Setanta, his manager, Ratts and Icke today. The treatment costs around $20,000 so I don't think the club would be doing this if they didn't see Setanta having a future with us.
