If you've made the calls, then you should know?

Looking for confirmation, is that okay?

A player going home as a result of injury is nothing new.

Yes. It's "personal". But it's not earth shattering news.

Bower went home to WA after his injury.

Oh...ok, sure...you are usually quite confident in your info, so I was curious about the question.

I just hope that whatever has happened, that Carlos is ok.

this guys has moved to the other side of the globe and has made more sacrifices and given more to this club we love, day in and out that we could ever imagine.

yet he is our new "bitch".

this bloke has given us hope when there was no other reason to have some.
he has more true blue in him than 95% of us on here, myself included, but atleast i have the sence of self to know my place and admit that.

Setanta should be commended and applauded for having the coruage to make it this far, which is more than the most of us could ever dream of.

i hope he sticks it up all the soft as, wanna be prentenders who think they know better.

have a good hard look, you know who you are.

Well said, gez.

The image of Carlos belting out the theme song at Football Park after the Port game is burnt in my memory. Hope he's ok.

Why does everyone has to make the Setanta issue personal?

I like him and hope he succeeds, but if the club doesn't think he is up to it, then let him go. It is not a big deal. The club is bigger than the individual.

He shows promise, but arguably this year he has stalled. As it stands, I don't believe he is in our best 22. He is still probably in the best 25-30 and I believe he should be kept as a depth player.

If (and its a big IF) Setanta fulfills his potential, he could be a devastatingly good player. No one could suggest that he has not had chances or support at the club. The best thing that has happened this year is that he is not a guaranteed walk up start for the ones. He's had to earn a place. That is a good thing as it is a lesson that every player has to learn, and reports suggest that this has frustrated him. He has to get over it.

I am a massive fan of Luke Blackwell. He gets in an under. His disposal is nowhere near as bad as it is made out to be. He struggled with unaccountability, but has worked on it. He is small, but he finds the ball. He can't kick over a jam tin, but he finds targets. He dominates the magoos, but will almost certainly be on the football scrapheap at the end of the year. This year shaped as a career defining one for him and he got injured. Them's the breaks. I believe that he has a much bigger case to be dirty than Setanta, but we haven't heard a peep.

Either Setanta makes it as a player or he leaves as a mixed experiment that had ups and downs. I hope he makes it, I really do, but I trust the club to make the right choice.

I have a hunch as to where he might be.

He's been reading TC, and he's hunting down the anti-Santy posters one by one, and then the fookin' hittin' really will start!

If he wants to play and he makes it great, if it's not what he really wants then that's fine too. I just wish him luck. His aggression at Monga that day was one of the few highlights of the last 6 years. Go the big Setant!

Looking for confirmation, is that okay?

It would be good if some of TheInsiders on TC could confirm.

Exactly. I hope there is a good reason why our most useful big defender is AWOL and we have to watch Saddo hobble around. I would rather see Aussie get a bit of game time into him.

Surely if this rumor had legs there'd be much more talk about it going on? Or is he too small-fry for the media to care?

If it's not on On The Couch tonight, then it's probably BS. What about FC? Would it rate a mention on that show?

We usually get mentioned for about 30 seconds "On the Couch" so I would'nt expect too much air time there.

I doubt if it would rate at all on FC (Ch filth). They will probably endorse Styne's comments re our so called "Tanking" last year

Only useful big defender is probably closer to the mark but he isn't AWOL. None of the others match up well against ruckmen.
