In
Bower
Betts
Pfeiffer

Out
Saddington
Fisher (or Wiggins if he gets suspended for charging)
Browne (really like the kid but he has plenty of time on his side)

- would be nice to see Hadley in the side but not sure if he is ready yet
- maybe not a bad idea to give Kreuzer a rest and see how Jacobs goes at AFL level

+1

I would not be surprised at all if Ratts rests Kruezer, he is long due for a week off and now we are out of the finals race, it is as good a time as any

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/st ... 32,00.html

I want to see how Hadley and Houla have a go after their injuries !!!!!!!! I also think Pfeiffer was EXTREMELY unlucky to be dropped and deserves another run in the Seniors. I would have thought that Bower and Betts would be automatic inclusions if fit, and I wouldn't be surprised if Judd is ruled out with a "Concussion" after his head injury today (2 head colisions iirc, 1 he had to go off with for the blood rule and the second which left him on the turf for a while), and his one against Lloyd earlier in the year. .............. We may need to bring in Jacobs to add some height to cover Kruezer

So

Ins
Hadley, Houla, Pfeiffer, Bower, Betts, Jacobs

Out
Saddo, JR, Judd (Concussion), Kruezer, Fisher, Browne

What will happen.

In: Betts, Austin

Out: Saddington, Wiggins (susp)

What I would like to happen.

In: Austin, Betts, Jackson, Houlihan, Hadley

Out: Thornton, Saddington, Fisher, Russell, Wiggins (susp)

Let Austin play on Brown, great experience and he is big enough.

Jackson in BP

Betts more time on ball rotating with Houlihan

Surprised so many want Aussie in ahead of Bower - Bower was teriffic before being in injured and has now had 2 solid hit outs with the Ants. We desperatly miss his run from half back and he has the abiity to play "tall", e.g. Travis Cloke shellacking earlier in the year.

Aussie a likely type, but Bower a fair way ahead of him at this stage.

Very different players and Austin was a lot better than Bower yesterday.

Bower is better on a leading forward where as Austin is better in a wrestle/when the long ball comes in and can float across and mark using his superior reading of the play.

Austin showed great signs yesterday in the wet, with the opposition often indiscriminantly kicking the ball inside 50 and Austin reading the play and marking. IMO in style he plays on Harley. If you have a look at Harley when he gets run up the ground he gets beaten, but when the opposition are forced to bomb the ball in Harley will either float back and mark or spoil.

Considering our problems in the ruck department its surely a priority that we find out what rucks we have on our list and whether they have a future at AFL level.

Somehow we have to try Jacobs for the remainder of the season and against the Lions rucks we'll get a really good idea on where he is placed. I would like to see a Hampson and Jacobs combination at AFL level and I would rest Kruezer for a game or so as he has had an outstanding season already but if we lose a forward due to suspension then we have the option of also playing Kruezer as a permanent forward if required.

What other young forwards can we try if we lose Wiggins? I don't think a lot of Jack Edwards (good runner but not a leading forward) - I guess it would be Hartlet or as mentioned Kruezer?

If we lose Wiggo we might have to introduce the silky skills of houlihan back into the team

Wiggo should be right to play. He would have to cop a three match ban to miss, as I don't think he's ever been reported before so would have a clean record and receive the appropriate penalty reduction.

Is it true that Betts did not play for the Bullants on the weekend?

If so, then maybe he is no certainty for selection this week.....

Anyway, FWIW I would like to see houlihan come in the Wiggins (assuming he gets suspended).

Bower has to be included for Saddo.....

Although this game would have been fantastic if it were a mini elimination game, however that won't be the case for us though we have a chance to effectively end Brisbane's year. I'd take satisfaction in that.

Also with Brisbane's old school tactics of man on man footy, Fev's not without a chance to kick 10.
