This may not be our year for September action, but at least we are being respected a lot more than we have been in the past five year - by the media and opposition teams alike.

Isn't it great thinking that the coaches of oppositions teams are starting to look at the scoreboard at 3 quarter time - see they are only a few goals up - and then tell their team "It's not over yet - the Blues will have a red hot dip from here"

Quote:
The Blues were uncharacteristically flat after quarter-time

Isn't it nice to hear that having a bad game is starting to become 'uncharacteristic' - rather than 'expected'.

Don't worry, optimists and pessimists both frequent TC - but both parties have one thing in common.

They both want to be there when the real stuff happens in September.

It's not too far off now.

You know it, I know it - and now the rest of the competition is starting to realise it as well. 8)

The greatest thing is we started to look forward to next year from round 21 and not round 11.

You're right though, even Kangas supporters around me at 3qrt time were expecting carlton to come back... compare this so say round 3 this year and it puts a smile on my face atleast.

we will win the next two games and show the comp that we'll be the one been chased next year.

I'll help you out Sparkyblue.

I posted in "Recruitment" that it is becoming clear that other players are now looking at us with renewed interest with our improvement this year, CJ, the kids (etc) & are seriously considering us as their new home. Prior to this year there would not have been many that would have given us consideration but things are changing & they, like us, can see there is a bright future ahead.

Let em line up at the gates & we will check em over to see if they FIT our criteria, but at least players are now looking at us with real desire to play here. That's got to be a good thing. :-D :-D

That's 500 baby! Woo Hoo! 8)

Sparky it's great to see the media have taken to thinking that way as some of us know that the Blues are back.

It's a pity some posters don't think that but rather we are about to go down the gurgler for not playing the kids.

Nice posts, with some good points...

:)

I almost had nothing to say there.

Nice to know players are contacting us - not us chasing them, and that the year wasn't over in mid-May. More positive articles (about a dozen + online after the second Port win) is also a refreshing change to the 1000 + 'doom and gloom' pieces written by shitty journos (who are now, of course - respected writers... :P )

Man, the last game I willingly went to last year was the 100 point thrashing against Hawthorn - one of the few times I've ever walked out early (after such high expectations, I was shattered).

I'd love to beat Hawthorn by 5 goals, and show everybody really how far we've come in 12 months... :-D

no - I don't think we will, but we have already showed the AFL world that we're the team to chase next year!

Hey Sparky, I know how much to like to feel loved, noted and recognised on here so I had to get in there to break that long silence. This thread is now going great guns.

By the way I did read it and agree.

Isn't it nice that we actually had a sniff of finals action late in the season? Teams will start to fear us next year as the kids take their next step.
