Its fair to say that collectively the Mike & Dan crew have been pretty happy with Wiggins' last couple of months; although some still have Pfeiffer before him, others have him as a certainty for 2 more years.

Regardless he's been one of our more consistent forwards and we had no hesitation in asking to speak to Wiggler again after last week's effort.

Nice interview. Great gusty mark too and something we are getting used to.
Actually, I thought the bit of a shovel out of the centre that led to Judd's goal at the end was pretty good under pressure as well.
If you look at the game again and concentrate on Wiggo's possessions, where he gets them etc, you will see that about four of them were in passages that led to goals either directly from his assist or with one or two other players in between. Those sorts of stats don't appear on the sheet but his value to the team is gaining in importance with his game time. Well done, Wiggo and here's looking forward to a new contract.

Interesting how he said he was so determined to play well in his 100th game.

Well he did play well, in fact it was probably his best ever game.

If he had played with that type of determination previously he might be talking about his 200th game now instead of his 100th.

I think he's always had the determination Jars, but it has just been his skills which have let him down. I felt two years ago that he started to cement a place in the side when Brad Fisher was out, but then Wiggo got a spate of hamstring injuries just when he looked to consolidate.

I'd be interested to know whether he has been reinvigorated under the new coach too. He never seemed quite as comfortable under the Pagan regime as he looks now.

I was surprised we had 7 Tasmanians play 100 games.

Jars thats just another typical anti-Wiggo comment from you. There's not many other players at the club that play with the same heart and determination than Wiggo in every game. He has been really good this year and deserves the recognition... but I know you'll never give it to him.

It's not anti Wiggo, it's anti anti logic.

There have been plenty of players who have said they have somehow got themselves 'up' for a milestone game. Doesn't make sense, if a player is capable of that sort of effort in one game they should be capable of it for all games.

Do it for every game.

Jars, when you go to work are you "on top of the world" everyday, or are there days you think you should have stayed in bed. Are there special events that go on in your workplace (annually) that get you excited (golf days, bbq's etc). Get my point.

I understand where you're coming from (ie) these guys are professionals & get paid alot of money to perform on a REGULAR basis (not every game)

No one performs EVERY game. These guys are just that, they are people who have bad days & good days like you & me. They are not robots that you can program stuff into as soon as they walk into the change rooms on game day.

I agree with you. But I've thought about it a bit. I actually think JR is a nice field kick more often than not, and wonder whether he is in fact a pretty good kick for goal during training? Maybe some of our training watchers can help us?

But I just remember the beautifully weighted kick to Fish on Saturday against Port, and one a few weeks back to Fev against the Doggies too. Maybe the heat of the game just gets to him with his goal kicking? I dunno... except to say I am also a little intrigued by Wiggo's comment.

Maybe Wiggo has been reading TC and thought he'd have a dig at the anti JR posters.

If he hadn't spent so much time oout injured, I think you mean. He plays hard every week. Sometimes yoiu get to be in the right place and get a few more possies. He is getting better as a result of more game time, no injuries and being better coached and in a better team.

I think it is his determination that has got him this far. It certainly wasn't natural ability. I don't think it's fair to criticise that aspect of his game or training input.

I can never understand why people are so critical of him on TC when the coaches and other players admire him for what he brings to the club.
