it always happens against us. Their captain will come back from Injury, pick up 30 touches and kill us in the middle, whilst Thompson who is also coming back from Injury will boot 6 and beat us :(

I hate for History to keep repeating itself against us. PLZ Boys, its Time to Change History. Stand up and keep our season alive

The only possible out would be Saddington.

Agree.
This is the only person I see being omitted.
But if Betts is fit, he will be in, I can't see a straight swap between these two, a tall defender for a small forward......Bower should replace Saddo and ???? for Betts. Hopefully not but I can see it being Hammer and playing Kreuz back in the ruck more.

i say we just get Stephen "the hitman" Browne to sort out Harvey. other than that you have to look at someone who is prepared to sacrifice their game and can stick to the task.

what about Jordy?
Heheh .. Hitman .. has a ring, too!

Replace Saddo with Hoops? OK so Saddo has 11cm on Hoops but it's an option (if he's fit, that is)

Thompson played for them last weekend but injured his ankle and hence needs to pass a fitness test.

Who do you put on Brent Harvey?

That is the most important topic. Do you rotate players off him?
Grigg and Walker ?

I would put Gibbs on Harvey .......... Think that would be an awesome showdown, and Gibbs has done well shutting down key opposition players while still accumulating his own ball.

Ild also like to see Betts and Bower both back in if fit. I would probably drop Saddington and maybe Russel or Armfield (He is doing well, but I want to see Bower back into the side)

We have tried Cloke, Kreuzer and Hampson in the team a few times prior against teams that have been trying and it has not worked. We will basically go into the game with 21 players if we do it this week.

Don't agree Woof. It worked well last week. We rotated all three, through the ruck, forward, bench. Why doesn't that work? I cannot see the logic.

We need Hammer playing and playing 1st ruck against the bigger bodies asap. If we ommit Hammer this week against Hale/McIntosh/Petrie then we have no idea and deserve what we get coming to us.

Isn't it great that we can't agree on who to leave out of the side, rather than who is worthy of being in it!!!

In: Betts (if fit), Bower
Out: Saddo, Fisher

I would also add Russel as a possible out, but really rate his strong marks and pressure he puts on the opposition that helps out our defenders. Fisher also takes a good mark, but no better than russel at goal and offers no assistance to our defence.

Our deficiencies at ruck contests have probably cost us around 4 games this year and we could potentially be sitting 4-5th if we had not been smashed like we have been at these contest. And it hasn’t been for entire games but large, crucial chunks of games that has cost us a result. Hille against the scum is the first to come to mind!

The only problem with Hammer, he gives us something at ruck contest for part of the game (he can’t sustain this at every contest) but he is out of form around the ground and we essential play a man down.

Hale/McIntosh/Petrie are a very decent ruck division and one that could get them over the line come Sunday

We wont have an opposition this week that lied down like they did at the contested ball last week and not exploit our glaring deficiencies in the ruck

I must be the only one that thought Hammer showed plenty last week, including around the ground. :?

It worked well last week because the opposition was not trying. My logic is that all three have played against teams that have been trying and what has happened is that Hammer has had 20-30% game time effectively making us play 1 man short.
If all 3 play this week I hope I am wrong.

That push in the back was GOLD.

I would persist with him as he might surprise given the importance of the game and if the MC throw a challenge to him.

That was one of the funniest things I have seen on a footy field DUC. That was GOLD. Laughed my arse off.

Can't quite reach you for the tackle. Oh WTF here have some of this -SHOVE. The commentators (esp Pickering) also found it very humerous.

And SB, no you are not the only one. I thought Hammers efforts last week were very good, for a YOUNG kid. People need to understand that a kid like Hammer will take time to build his tank up & his body to match these much bigger & far more experienced blokes he comes up against when he does play. The MC know he's young & under experienced against these blokes & need to protect him to some degree for the future, but they also know how effective he is when he does play. IMO, let him play. More experience at AFL level is what he needs.

If he's no good atm, why does he get a game?

I might be an idiot, but I saw that push in the back as a really clever professional free kick: if he didn't do that, his opponent had a clear kick to an open forward line. But holding up play, he gave our guys a chance to crowd the port forward line.

Anyway - Campbell and Thomas really concern me. We've struggled against small forwards for years now, and these guys are good. They could be the difference.
