I'd be wrapt if he proves me wrong (apart from having to eat a bag of shit), but it won't happen.

no we'd tear up our memberships cos we hate him oh so much :garthp:

I love the way some people just loive big white horses - I always thought it was a pubescent girl thing (to do with sex and stuff) but oh know, its a man thingy too - my horse is bigger than your horse.

Go Cain!

With all due respect, that is ridiculous. Just because they're playing on terrible and denagerous [sic] surfaces miles away from home in the severe wind; Bendigo and they turn in a sub-par performance - means that they are excused from playing poorly even when spots in the senior team are up for grabs?

That is a perfect HTFU award that one...

I would have thought that the state of the grounds is a good reason why VFL players don't play all that well. I know I always performed on a ground with good cover and no potholes; a true bounce.

I know I wouldn't feel the same passion I would playing in an Ants jumper as I would a Carlton jumper; they are alienated in those red jumpers.

All I'm attempting to do is empathise to find reasons. If you don't think they're possbilities, well you just said it. I believe in what I suggested....and they very well could be at least possibilities...at least the ground condition...maybe?...hey Carlton Clem?...would you give me that one? Please

Ackland could of been a good tall up foward for us against Port. You never know what could happen.

Not much point worrying about it now. Not even an emergency.

Less passion? Well, some players are playing for their careers here - their chance at a decent salary here, if that isn't reason enough to motivate them...

Whilst your possibility of poorer grounds having an effect on performance may be valid, I'm not sure it validates your argument - considering that on those same poorer grounds, a guy who we think is a hack (in many ways still is) in Cain Ackland kicks bags of goals and his main opposition for a spot don't do all that much (judging by the reports by respected observers).

Thanks CC

Just goes to show how shallow our depth really is, especially given we only have Setanta and Banno out injured, Bettsy may come up and Houla, Hadley and Bower are regaining match fitness.

As for the rest...I say there's got to be a develpment issue which needs to be uncovered by detectives; Purana in Melb are a hot unit.

With Cain in the forward line it should not interfere with Fevola at all, Cain will be resting in the forward pocket when Fevola leads for the ball Cain will rest in the Goal square with midfielders having an extra option who to kick to. I’m sure if Cain can hold a couple good grabs and goals the opposition have to man him big time, that’s were Favola and Fisher comes in, it sound good in theory, now put it in practice and find out.

Still no Acland, that is a bit disappointing, I find the match committee always go for the safe way never have the guts to adventure a little and take a risk every now and then, they cost us at least a couple of matches this year by not taking risks and that would have been enough to make the eight in my book.

Perhaps they still remember the results of taking a risk on Ackland the last time?

The theory is good. I don't think Cain is the man to do it.

The part you got right and we all can agree with is that Cain will be "resting".

Even if he doesn't get picked he'll still be "resting" and waiting for the big bomb to come his way.

If he had of been selected, would the port player just run off and double team Fev? I think Kruezer is a far better option to rest up there. Cain isn't the most mobile, and not to pick on him... but he doesn't have 2nd efforts. I guess if he was up to it, he would have been picked. He isn't the kind of threat where the opposition would worry about manning him up big time. I agree with Bondi, don't think he's quite up to it.

I heard there was a really good chance of Deano having to eat that stuff but Ackland hurt himself at training during the week.
