He hasn't been the best player for us but what would you say if he went out and kicked 5 for us at FF? You lot will probably be the first people praising the bloke.

I haven't been the biggest supporter of him but some of you are telling me that Hartlett and Edwards could do the job when they've failed to do it in the VFL?

Who else is going to play as a KP forward for us? Care to name any options?

:garthp:

Fevola and Kreuzer...there's a start....next?

Fevola and Thornton...there's another go...what are your thoughts CC?

Yep, we draft one. As for this week, it doesn't matter. Play Hampson forward. Wouldn't mind Thornton forward actually.

The thing that really gets me is that people want poor form rewarded. Hartlett, Edwards don't play all that well and they get games. What kind of message does this send to the playing group?

That we have a very young and new list and we don't know enough about the players because of this background.

Players don't play well in non Carlton jumpers, on terrible and dangerous surfaces out in the open and miles away from home in the severe wind; Bendigo. Receiving ordinary delivery doesn't represent the effectiveness of their positioning. Being coached by first year coaches trying to learn the caper at the players' expense....I could go on.

Things aren't right at Carlton in a lot of areas. Yes we've improved, but we still don't know enough about our list and the fact that many players have gone backwards this year tells me all is not well on the development front.

With all due respect, that is ridiculous. Just because they're playing on terrible and denagerous [sic] surfaces miles away from home in the severe wind; Bendigo and they turn in a sub-par performance - means that they are excused from playing poorly even when spots in the senior team are up for grabs?

That is a perfect HTFU award that one...

Select him, it will be worth it to see the tension in Deano's posts for the next two days :-D

I'm with you CC.

In my opinion players shouldn't have to necessarily dominate for the Bullants to be promoted however they need to at least play well.

C'mon, it's a no-brainer.

It's like me predicting that Corey McKernan would go off the ground with "knee soreness" during any game in 2003 or that Mick Mansfield would finish the game with a bandage wrapt around his scone during any game he played for Carlton.

He cant do much worse than Hartlett and Edwards... if he is kicking that many goals this is the week to get him in.
I dont rate Ackland at all.... BUT we must reward good form, even if its in the Ants... he cant do much else, so he deserves a chance

But what if our midfield started to dominate? you or I could snag a few on the end of the right delivery.

Wouldn't it be funny if Ackland is selected this week and becomes our best player from now until the end of the finals.

A bit of a warped humour...wonder if the anti-Acklands will celebrate or bury their head in the sand on whether to keep him for next year.
