Who will be making way for Ackland's well deserved comeback this week.

Come on Guys dont be mean and get behind him and wish him luck he is not a bad bloke after all and its not his fault that Carlton played him out of position.

Go Ackland.

sorry I just can't find respect for a guy who was laughing on the bench about god knows what, when his team was losing by over 100 points.

Last year at the GABBA.

I'm trying to work out how serious your post is. Ackland has been in good form in the 2's but if Carlton are not going to keep him on the list for next year there is no point playing him. Give a youngster a go.

laughing on the bench is any different than hugging and laughing with opponents after we lose a game?

Hmm... well who knows maybe they are going to keep him on the list? We don't know that he'll get shafted, do we?

I've been with the majority of TC in giving Ackland a decent bake - but if the guy has worked hard and played well in the twos, then I think he should get another crack in the seniors, regardless of who it is...

Besides, I wanna see if he can bag himself two goals - eh Deano?   :P

We still have a season to complete with a very slim chance of making the eight so we still have to play the in form players alright the opposition was weak but he still kicked 7 goals plus if he show some form with the firsts he may be worth something in the trade, besides we always criticise players that are not loyal to the Club, I think it will be nice if we show some loyalty to the players in return.

It better not happen, let Hammer in if we want to rotate ruckman, or better yet, bring up Jacobs from the rookie list (Bano is on the LTI). I know he's a good guy supposedly, but he's had his chance and he made a muck of it.

Don't think the thread is suggesting to bring him in as another ruck option. He has been kicking bags of goals in the Bullants as a forward option.

Could be useful, may aswell try him as a permanent forward while hes still contracted.

Good form is good form and Ackland has shown an ability to kick bags of goals in the VFL. He has several times kicked more goals in a single game in the VFL than Hartlett and Edwards have been able to produce between them at that level. He deserves a call-up.

Further, as bluekettle says, we are still a slim chance at the finals so we need to be pragmatic. Ackland might just kick 2 or 3 goals and get us over the line. He would at least command a tall defender and some respect from the opposition. As an added bonus he is also a reasonably good kick for goal.

He has only ever played in the ruck for Carlton. But he has gone back to the VFL where he could quite easily have just cracked it and lazily played out time on his AFL career. Instead he has obviously worked hard and found himself a new niche of sorts at VFL level. Let's see what he can do for us.

Maybe he was laughing at BYE BYE Pagan!

Definately deserves one more chance at Full forward! And if he can produce why not!

Maybe the next Gehrig LOL!

Last time we saw him at FF he had the ball in the goal square and fluffed the absolute sitter of a goal. I don't hold great confidence in him at this stage.

So basically we are saying to our youngsters if you stuff up once or twice (ok maybe a dozen+) and we make our mind up on you then don't worry about trying in the VFL because it doesn't mean anything?

I think effort needs to be rewarded even if they have let the team down in the past... give Ackland a go in the forward line - we have nothing to lose!

I can't beleive that anyone here is seriously considering playing that pathetic excuse for a footballer. His last game (hopefully EVER) sealed his fate surely.

His feeble efforts, fumbles, turnovers, wrong options and just plain lack of co-ordination and football ability was unforgettable. We've improved a lot this year..............let's keep it that way, by keeping the CFC "Sugar Free".

Not really. I never said I had tremendous amount of respect for Fev but at least he has proven he gives us something on the field. He has a lot more runs on the board than Ackland.
