This is the first chance i have had to come on since he signed and by GOD it's awesome!
Knowing he isn't going anywhere makes such a difference when you watch a game. Every time he marks that ball, scores that goal, I won't be thinking "too bad it's going to finish soon" I am now thinking "he will be here for his entire career, no other team will have the joy of his services"
With everyone else at the club knowing that you would have to think that would boost morale & that can go a long way into giving hope for a finals campaigne when most of the odds are stacked against us.

It is probably right but I doubt that the figures would be that evenly spread - he will probably get something like 550K for the 1st 2 years and then $1.1M for year 3 where they only need to claim half in the cap

09 and10 aren't when we'll want salary cap relief: we'll want that in 2011 when Gibbs and Kruezer and Jamo and Murph are up for seriously big dollars.

We'll be most likely trying to front-load the Fev contract, because we''ve got plenty of room now.

I think the idea was that in his third year Fev will be eligible for the veteran's list whereby only half his salary will go towards the salary cap.

Wouldn't matter. Only have his average salary per year is included in the Cap. In other's wprds, front-loaded/back-loaded it will be still be $350,000 (assuming $2.1 mil over 3 years). Fev's contract's, as well as Judd' is front-loaded while there's still room in the Cap.

A win tomorrow, draws us level with Adelaide. Also puts us level with Brisbane or 2pts off North depending on who wins. A win would also put us level with Collingwood if the Pies lose to Hawthorn and above Richmond when they lose to Geelong. Go further again, and draw a long bow, if the Swans lose to the Dogs we're 6 pts off a double chance and we get to rue our 2pt loss to the Swans. As an opposition supporter, who just loves footy, I have to say I was pleased when Fev signed. Aside from not minding the big fella, it's always nice to see players showing loyalty and sticking with the one club.

I sympathised with what you guys had to go through during the past few weeks and understood your frustration.

It was good the contract was signed and he (and you) could move on.

So in having said all that, was disappointed to read this article this morning. Was it really necessary? Shit article full of fluff that adds nothing to anything. Especially Brendan or football. It's rather embarrassing really....
