Can I invite people to visit the herald-sun superfooty website where the Essendon* blogger has an article implying that we're clearly about to go over the cap again due to Fev's new contract. Feel free to leave comments.

See "Talking Carlton" introduction & rules (etc). I'm sure it will advise you in there if allowed.

In relation to the implication you referred to, isn't that..........................

wrong?

:)

Fev is on the footy tonight, the other players who have re-signed could be Grigg or Austin.

Fevola will always be an enigma, the good with the bad, hopefullly more the good with less of the bad.

Thanks for signing Fev, lets hope the positive outweighs the negative for the next three years.

All aboard the blues' bandwagon. :-D :)

So how do we think this contract will be payed ??? If Fev has a 3 year deal, and his 3rd year is as a Veteran, then will the contract be heavily back ended when, iirc, only half of the salary payed falls under the salary cap ???I could be (and probably am) wrong, but I think thats how it works.

YES

No we can go back and focus on the reason we're putting signatures to such a list: 17th Flag and an era of MORE!!

Lets go Blues....aim for a Flag(s) in 2010-2011 with Fev against the Dawks.

Swann was on 3aw, said that contract had to be redone with regards to break up of years and amounts per year. Said that club has room in salary cap and this year front ended some contracts to allow for this. He said that there will be no problems in future with re-signing young players.

Great news.

Lets hope he plays with that passion for the rest of the season.

If we sneak into the eight this season we could turn a few heads,

Fev 3rd year is under the Veterans list. We can only use half of the average annual salary over the 3 years. If he is getting $2.1m over 3 years, considering we have more room in the cap next year, we may actually pay him say 800, 700, 600. But the 3rd year's cap only reduces by 350K.
