PROs

For me the Wiggler playing the game of his lif for his 100th was massive. He was my BOG because he gave his heart and soul even when his more talented team-mates looked uninterested.

The leadership of K Simpson just astounds me every week. From the kid who failed to get a touch in his first 3 games he is an absolute cog in our machine and is usually in the thick of it when the machine clicks into gear in those 4th quarters.

When we are on song like we were for end of 3rd and final quarters we play the sort of football that could well deliver us a Premiership.

CONS

Terrible disposal and accuracy on the scoreboard for much of the game.

I agree with many on Hartlett. I just don't think he is an AFL-quality player.

PROS --- Kreuser . This bloke will be the best ruckman around in a few seasons . [find someone for CHF ] . CONS our disposal in the first half . In the second half it was probably the best for the season .

Cannot add to the positives already expressed here.

One Con though.

I hope the club has a strong word to the AFL and the Bulldogs are never allowed to wear those black shorts against us again.

I saw three handballs from Carlton players at the bottom of packs go directly to Buldogs players without a Carlton player near them.

I had trouble distinguishing the players on TV at times.

Did not help that the majority of the Bulldogs team had their socks down as well.

PROS:
Judd- thats what happens when teams don't pay him any respect, DOMINANT
Gibbs- Skills, composure and awareness is through the roof, give this bloke a 10yr deal
Grigg- Very good game
Murph- Midfield to halfback, gave us alot of run
Backline- worked as a team, Jamo always within arms reach, Austin will be good, Rest of them did their jobs.
Stevo- Very good in the guts
Wiggo- Keep this up and you will stick around
Few others too

CONS:
Hartlett- done nothing, couldn't get near it and couldn't keep up when his man ran off.
Cloke- improved as the day went on but not in future set up

What a win, one thing about the dome when we get on a roll it's like there is 100,000 Carlton people there!!

Pro's

Jamison - This bloke gives his opponent nothing, he is always next to his man. His opponent will know in years to come that they are in for a tough day when Jammo is next to them

Russell - Best game for the club imo. Led up hard all day, chased hard.

The Chief - Kept us in the game in the first half, and I was happy just to watch you kick 4! Heart and soul

Gibbs,Murph,Kruise - All future champions, when the game is there to be won, they want the ball, they want the contest. How good was Gibbs sidestep in the third quarter.

Judd - still can't believe we get to watch the best player i have ever seen run around in the navy blue. It's a gift each week!

Stevens - ran and ran in the second half, skills were great

Fev - well he is just Fev, first half i wondered what we could get for him trade week, second half i considered giving him my first born!

Reasonable team effort all round

Con's

Skills - at times in the first half they were pretty bad

CHF - We just don't seem to like kicking to a CHF, Hartlett seemed to try reasonably hard, but we just look past them to the fev.

Thornton - followed his man all day, seem to concede the lead up mark. Worried up his place in the side.

Pros:

The Carlton Football Club: to the players of the Carlton football Club... your heart and courage this year has been incredible to watch. Yes there are times things haven't worked for us, but every week you fight and fight and fight until you give everything that you have. The sides I have watched for the last six years have been insipid and bereft of excitement. This year, I know you aren't going to take anything lying down, and that even when bigger and stronger opponents have you lying on the canvas that you'll punch and you'll punch and you'll punch again in the hope of getting back up. You've given me a fantastic season of football, and I feel fantastic about the renewed sense of pride you put into that Navy Blue guernsey each week. Well done to each and every one of you.

Too many other pros to mention

Cons - Verbs rightly said no one should have a con this week, but I think he might make an exception for this one. Why the hell do I have to pay $56 a month to listen to w@nkers like Dwayne Russell and Danny Frawley actively barrack against my team  Could they have been any more biased last night? The call was an absolute disgrace Foxtel. Don't let these clowns commentate on a Carlton game ever again

As some one else said more flexibility in backline - 193 cm Jamison can play on anyone
Waitey also with athleticism can also play various roles - need someone to stitch up small bp role - browne or armfield
Defence better without carrazzo and scotland on occasions
Forward line better
Lead up forwards -russell fisher and wiggins (although played some on hbf yesterday)
Need edwards or hartlett or someone else to grab/perform CHF - Agree that Kreuzer could be the man - nearly held onto great contested mark in second quarter yesterday in the goal square

Agreed. Russell, especially, is a terrible caller. At least Frawley is pretty inoffensive and makes enough daft comments that you just laugh at him. But Dwayno isn't worth one of Blighty's rat's tossbags.

The absolute glee in Russel's voice when Carlton was 37 points down in the 3rd quarter - that's 37 points down in the third quarter was impossible to hide in Russell's voice.

I hope people ring in to 3AW tonight and really stick it right up him.

Russell has it in for us as he was never able to get a kick when Sexton or Dean played on him.

PROS
Great comeback
Judd, utterly sensational, his work ethic is astonishing, as is his skill
Jamo - the glove, wonderful spoiler
Russell cops heaps but keeps improving
Wiggo - deserved to have a great 100th
Big K - again showed great endeavour and skill in secodn half
Stevo good after slow start
Grigg - been a fan since day one, got a bit of aggro

CONS
Too many guys have lazy sloppy disposal when under no pressure

FEV - can't believe anyone at the game was satisfied with Fev's efforts. He just didn't try in the first three quarters. He has prodigous talent as he showed in the last but is the most selfish player I have ever seen in th navy blue, and at 27 I have finally conceded that he won't ever change. The fact that the coach tolerated his antics in the first three qtrs indicates that either they have decided Fev is gone, or they have decided that he can do what he likes and he is not subject to the same rules or requirements of the rest of the team. The fact that he is so talented makes it all the harder to take. He is just so dumb and immature that he doesn't get it and doesn't care if he lets his team mates down. His first half was as bad as anything he has ever served up. It is going to be hard to tell young players they have to chase etc if Fev is allowed to do as he pleases. I don't know what we do. He is a match winner who works totally for himself. Even in the last right in front of me, twice he didn't bother to pick up an opponent and the ball was passed to the dogs player nearest to him. If we didn't have him we would lose a guy who is close to the best in the comp when on song, but if he stays it means we have the most selfish lazy immature player in the league setting an example for anyone who comes into the side. People might say he won the game for us, but if he had tried early on we never would have been behind.

Ratts - gutless effort to allow Fev to stay on the park when he clearly was not trying. Smacks of a suburban coach who needs his star even when he plays like a spoilt child. I can't believe posters who have seen the great Carlton sides and leaders would tolerate this. Fev is brilliant, charismatic exciting and utterly self centred, selfish and disinterested in the 1%s. He chases and tries when it suits himself not the team. Looks like Ratts reckons that's okay by him.

Spot on Jarusa. Was thinking the same during the game. That was a case of needing a good clash strip if ever I saw one. Those Bullies jumpers were woeful too, regardless of their history. Much like 9thmond wearing the Hawks Jumpers ??

Our record against shocking jumpers is pretty good....... :)

I dunno why, but I reckon that the combo of Liam Pickering and HLFT is a tad worse. At least Dwayno pretends to get excited when Fev is on song. Liam would be looking for the Bullies come back, without giving any credit to Carlton. They were terrible in the call of the Swans game.

Brilliant point Mighty Blues

Michael Jamison is an absolute superstar i love him. Everyone he went on yesterday he beat. AND he is composeed under pressure AND he uses the footy nearly better than anyone in our team

Love him

There was one particular passage of play where about 5 Carlton players took the ball from half back to half forward and Russell called the names of the 5 Bulldogs that were second to the ball and didn't touch it.

Dwayne Russell is a joke & THE worst caller in the game bar none. He hates Carlton & I for one hate him back. Works for me. I said it elsewhere but, Dwayne, FFS, PLEASE, PLEASE, I BEG YOU, PLEASE -

STOP SAYING "......and nails it". EVERYTIME, not occcasionally, but EVERY flowering time someones kicks a goal. If 30 goals are kicked for the game
thats 30 times you say EXACTLY the same thing.
Ah, venting. Good stuff.

Anyway, for mine.

PROS: Far too many to list. All of it was a pro.

CONS: Nup. Nada. Nothing. Not one thing outside the "normal" bounds of a high pressure, excellent football game.

Well done Blue Boys.

What we won yesterday was more than just a football game & 4 points.

What we won yesterday was complete RESPECT from the football world.

and maybe even from some of our fans
:-D :-D

Fair post Gerry. Was thinking the same thing during the game. Hopefully as our youngsters gain more experience and authority they will not tolerate Fev`s selfishness. He is an absolute gun though.
