:-D

Pros:
*Extra fitness means we are running out games so well.
*Judd getting ball on the outside as well as inside. 26 uncontested possessions for him shows he was receiving.
*Jordan Russell providing a marking target at half forward; thought he played quite a good game but no doubt some will pick him to be first dropped.
*Wiggins workrate, providing another option and actually having an impact on the scoreboard.
*Midfield smashing the dogs in the second half; Judd, Gibbs, etc won the contested ball and gave our forwards a chance.
*Jamison on Akermanis; the little shit had no impact.
*Waite doing fairly well on Johnson; although I guess Johnson goes down like he's been shot a fair bit so you have to give him extra credit.
*GRIGG. Come on extremely well; provided a bit more attack today compared to previous weeks. Wins the contested ball and his kicking was quite effective.

Cons:
*Early on when the dogs forced us to move the ball slowly from HB to HF we still bombed it in.
*Walker's kicking still a bit off but he will continue to work to rectify it.
*Hartlett not being able to get into the game; not sure whether it is because they won't kick the ball to him or he starts on the bench and struggles to adjust to the tempo
*At times Cloke dropped back to be the loose man but wasn't able to get to the contest allowing Minson to mark one on one.

Biggest Pro: This continued ability to come back and never say die, be it because we are now fitter and can run games out...i dont know, but they can really turn it on to overcome any deficit.

Stevo bounced back from last weeks criticism

Biggest Con: Heard Hartlett was pathetic again

Pathetic is a bit strong; however it looked like he couldn't get on any long leads. The mids went to Fev, Wiggins and Russell and rarely looked for Hartlett. Plus he doesn't seem to get enough time on the ground to get into the game.

It was said during Foxtel's call, has there ever been a player you love so much for one half of the game, yet you spend the other half wondering how the club can trade him.

CON: Wish we kicked a bit straighter! Had $20 on us by more than 39 points...at 14 to 1!

A great win for a young side though.

Ability to run out games is astonishing. Never seen anything like it. The Carlton of the 80s dominated the premiership 3rd quarter.... this group seems to be forging something similar.

Another pro to Ratts coaching. Fev was just on SEN saying how Ratts instructed them to play with Gilbee being the loose man. Fev would try to get behind Gilbee while Russell/Wiggins would go in front of him. Gilbee would then have to make a decision as to whether he would drop back in front of Fev or run up the ground to defend against Wiggins/Russel. Instead of being focussed solely on Fev, it puts some doubt into Gilbee's mind.

I haven't seen the game yet, but a big pro is our defence, to keep them under 100 when they were on target to score 130 plus

Pro: Russel no clangers and 14 disposals. Looked good.
Walker unscathed!

That's very pleasing to hear and is a massive PRO from this game.

I'm quite happy to cop a few frustrating entries into the F50 if we know that Ratts is trying to teach the guys how to play as a team more effectively inside 50. We just want to know there are theories in place, if the guys take a while to put them into practice, well, I can live with that for now.

That is exactly what I was going to write. I saw this from CJF and BANG....whatever is going on, it's weird.

This group is amazing.

You've got to love the Wiggler.

Fevola

We know how good the seniors can be, but the kids are amazing: Gibbs, Murphy in the middle, Kreuzer's attack on the footy and man, Austin looks like he'll make it by 2010, Grigg's composure suggests he's arrived, Betts plays like a veteran, Jamison is a star, Russell's best game...and we've got more on the side Bower, Hampson and Armfield.

Stevens' hard ball gets with Gibbs in the guts...hunters; great to see. Judd and Stevens on the receiving end was playing to our strengths. Midfield really kicked in the last 40 minutes (1 goal 1 behind every 4 minutes)

Everything Ratten mentioned on Fox before the game that he wanted to improve (and discussed at length at TC) he made happen in the second half. Great coaching!

CON

Walker's disposal...below standard.
Browne was average.
Cloke's too short.

A game of 2 halves. Early on there was much frustration as our superior midfield again didn't translate into a result because of our poor forward setup and lack of polish. Then, it's hard to work out why, but Judd and Gibbs ahd the midfield moving the ball in waves and to an open Fev. First win against a top 4 side!!! GO BLUES

PROS

1. JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD JUDD

2. GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS GIBBS

3. Jamo - wins contest after contest and is best disposal by foot in the back half

4. Grigg - a player

5. Carrazzo - best game for 2 months and makes a mockery of the role in which we were using him.

Special mentions - Fev (when his brain operates), Wiggins, KREUZER!!!, Thornton beat Murphy well,

CONS

1. Kick ins - some of our defending these was embarrassing today. The doggies went coast to coast with impunity and the zone wasn;t forming. Our own kickouts were terrible - no structure, no run

2. Forward set up - first half was a joke and we were bombing. I could not work out from the stands why it worked 2nd half

3. Hartlett - doesn;t look like he'll make it. Average decision making, average kicking, meek leads. The 2004 draft is looking yuk, his mate was also average tonight but had his few "good moments" that people might wax lyrical about on TC.

4. Waite's role - Overall, his game was a PRO, so don't take this the wrong way, but he sometimes loses his game of russian roulette and we concede goals because he won;t go near "his man". Can you win a flag with an unaccountable defender that zones off as first priority? It did work today though, so well done.

5. Walker's kicking - yikes! But good to see 1AW back anyway.

Any coach that decides not to tag Judd (Malthouse, Bailey, Eade) will end up rocking in a straight-jacket in padded cell. Kamikaze!

Big step to beat a top 4 side! Come on the mighty Carlton Football Club!!!!!!!!!

With 26 handball receives Judd was on the receiving end of a lot of uncontested footy. Finally! :-D

CON

When our bottom 8 butcher the ball the rest of the team gets dragged down and we play very poorly.

PRO

When they don't butcher it we are seriously good. The momentum we get going is phenomenal. There aren't too many other teams that can get on a role like we can.

PROs:

Wiggins. :-D Is there anyone who does not feel proud of this guy at the moment.

CONs:

We still havent beaten a side this year who have kicked over 100 points against us in the game. Cant believe we held the Dogs to 98, when they had 96 at 3/4 time
