Every game requires about 50-60 pages to be updated, before article and records pages, if we were to do it properly. A lack of volunteers means updating the Locker Room is done when we can or at worst at the end of the year.

Backwell stays in, but Russell hits the top 100 at the expense of Guernsey #43!

Another piece of recognition for the Blueseum!

It has been chosen to be included in the National Library of Australia's PANDORA archive of significant Australian websites.

http://pandora.nla.gov.au/

What this means is the Library will take a 'snapshot' of the site at intervals and keep that copy permanently in their archive for use by researchers and other users of their archive.

The only other non-official AFL website I can think of that has been included on this archive is bomberblitz.

So there you go, well done yet again to everyone who has made the Blueseum the excellent resource that it is.

The library could not tell me exactly when the Blueseum would appear in their archive.

Bomberblitz is being used as an archival resource?

Does the Blueseum really want to be in that "esteemed" company?

If you look past the essendon-ness of it bomberblitz is a very good site. They have a pretty good historical section.

Footypedia is on there as well.

Blueseum now updated for 2008, with all games and playing lists updated to Round 22, 2008 by true_blue24 and others.

Also big thanks to 'House' for updating the Locker Room.

An embarrassed thanks from someone who volunteered to help in 2006 and did part of one thing....
But I'm keen to get cracking on lifting my input now to make up for lost time!

**SUMMER WORK REQUEST**

OK, another season over and most if not all of the 2008 updating has taken place. This has been a great effort with a few posters leading the way, particularly trueblue_3 who has done a great job updating the players stats / bios.

BUT

We have a new, but interesting task. Pter(12)g recently added a file of stats which had player stats 1986 to 1991, which have recently been entered into the site by new user tmd1. This now means all of the Playing Lists in those years have full player stats, vouched to be as correct as we can manage by the stats-rleague site.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... ying+Lists

Now that means we have a lot of infrastructure to update:

1. We don't have 'Statistical leaders' pages set up for these years yet (or hardly completed). This addition, added by Blueworld a few years ago, really lets you understand who did what in the respective eras.

2. We can also now update all of the personal 'Stat Shots' for these years. Pick a player, eg Dorotich, and fill in the blanks of his 'average disposals' so we can truly see his whole story now.

Happy to assist anyone if you are prepared to assist the Blueseum. We can do the programming / formatting here but ultimately our players 1986 - 1991 need some TLC.

Had some nice correspondence to the Blueseum email address lately.

Thought I would share.

Quote:
The Blueseum website is a wonderful effort. The detail, research and amount of material on the site is quite amazing.

My congratulations and thanks to all who contribute to and who maintain and work on this favourite website.

Go blues!

Also, recently made a 90 year old Carlton supporters day when they were sent the 1967 smacka fitzgibbon version of the Carlton theme song.

Schoolkids have also been helped with school assignments, relatives of past players have been able to find new pictures of their dad or grandfather in Carlton gear and many other Carlton supporters have been assisted with Carlton related requests.

It's great that the site brings joy to so many people. This is a direct result of the dozens of people who have made the site what it is.
