Where else is Murph going ???

He's staying with his "mates". He aint going nowhere. Relax & take a deep breath.

From what I've read & heard these kids seem to be forming some type of youth pact to stay & play together. Why wouldn't they, with a chance to play a) with THE greatest club, b) with one of the greatest players to have/will have played the game & c) in a successful & up & coming side, of which they know they will have a HUGE say in.

Relax. I'm sure Murph is. :)

One thing I have realised with all this talk of contracts is that with the GC17 coming on board as well as WS, now more than ever contract negotiations are not as stright forward as they once were, especially with 2 new teams breathing down the other 16 clubs necks.

Carlton, probably more than any other team, is in danger of losing some of our gun players if we don't stitch them up on long term agreements. We have benefited enormously from the draft in the last 3-4 years and our players will be keenly looked at.

Determining the length of contracts is paramount right now but also the salary cap going forward and what the club expects to pay in 3-5 years time and how much room we have to move.

Contracts in 2008 are not as easy as they once were and all you need to do is look at what the AFL is promising to deliver to GC17 to be successful right from the word go.

Have faith that the club knows what it is doing and don't try to impose your timeline on when contracts are signed.

Thats the spirit.

Ruthless, I like that word. Ruthless - no ruth. Yes a good word.

You seem to have an obsession with Trent Sporn (not that there is anything wrong with that!), :P you have been crossposting in threads with comments about him.

This is against a variety the Guidelines:

1. Trolling (ie posting to disrupt threads)
2. Cross posting (posting the same or similar comments in multiple threads
3. Pointless posting sprees are only permitted in TalkingStuff.

By the way...welcome to TC...enjoy yourself. 8)

While I have confidence in the people at the top to sign the players we are going to need , surely it would be better to have them signed before the season finishes . Otherwise they will be inundated with offers from other clubs . We know from past dealings that agents are not always what they should be .

Just looking at the list & did a google search for details about Houla's contract (for a start) & found this. Not sure if it helps any. Says it was posted Sept 07, but then has Fev's details updated. :?

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368412

Also not sure if the 2 years stated is real or an assumption either so......

The official club link has been taken down (was up last week), it mentioned Hoops, Raso and someone else had re-signed but not specified the length.

Ratten said today in press conterence today for Fev that he hoped that this would prompt others to put pen to paper soon, assuming he meant Murphy and Waite.
