Is it my imagination or has Judd been given a personal body guard in most games this year?

Normally its Wiggins - I suggest you watch the replay of the Port game this year and see some of the softening up Wiggins was doing to Judds tag.

Although I am not really worried that this sort of thing happens, my main concern is numbers around the ball and playing one man short in certain circumstances.

I dont think Judd needs a minder anyway. He is used to it. His possessions are almost all CONTESTED.

And why is it only happening this year?

I recall marc murphy being targeted in his first year against the Lions.

I think is was copeland that stuffed murphy's shoulder in round 12 and murph was out for the year.

That day I almost threw my membership in the rubbish bin, not because of this incident - BUT because of the response of the carlton players.

Copeland should not have been allowed to walk off the ground that day.

I was never more ashamed of supporting this great club than when murph was taken out and the PLAYERS essentially did nothing.

AND WE EXPECTED IT TO HAPPEN TOO - becasue murph was invited by Voss and Mathews to got up to Brisbane and talk to Jonathan brown etc which murph did. The Lions almost snared murph under the father and son rule.

So I ask you all, why is Judd been given a minder this year? He doesnt need one anyway - and we play one man short for periods of the game becasue Wiggins is running around Judd instead of worrying about his man and the ball.

If I am wrong in this assesment then I stand corrected. But watch the replay of the Port game - a good example

I too was disgusted at Copeland "live by the sword die by the sword" my friend the Karma Train will visit you to one day.

Also was disgusted at Carlton's meek response to that incident - but really we had been meekly responding from 2002 all the way through to 2007.

But back to Judd's bodyguard he has had one of those at West Coast as well - and Synbad has been making the point all year that we have not been blocking, shepherding and clearing a path for Judd at all, at least not in the same way he got assistance from his team mates whilst he was at West Coast.

For Judd to be racking up the stats like he has been doing so far this season is a testament to his ability - but for his long term benefit he will need much more assistance from his Carlton team mates.

Genius

I see what your saying and i have noticed it as well but in the last 3 weeks i dont think it has worked at all.

All of Judd's possessions have been bloody contested and it is hard work and hard toil on his body. Although i love seeing Juddy win contested possessions i would love it even more if got some uncontested posessions too.

He has close to the best foot skills in the team and because we have a lot of guys who burn the ball we need Juddy delivering the footy more than he does now.

Last week Judd had something like 4 kicks and 14 handballs, i would like to see this evened up a little more and see him hurt opposition with his foot skills.

Any thoughts guys?

Haven't got the game to watch again but if the incident you're referring to was Wigglers hit, on I think it was Cassisi (not sure if spelled right) just out of our goal square, my recollection was Juddy looking at Wiggo thinking WTF did you do that for. Not sure about Juddy having a "bodyguard" as such, but he does need more protection around stoppages, so does Stevo & Bentick, Eddie, when he's there, Hadley & so on.

They all need more protection & as they play & train together more, along with more & more input on a regular basis from Diesel & Braddles, they will get better at it.

I don't think the Eagles managed to get it to the level they had it at for Judd, Cousins & Kerr, overnight & we won't either.

Won't take us long tho.

Really?
What particular aspect of that thread concerns you/?

Its simple high school chemistry and mathematics.

The credibility loss is with the Anthropogenically Induced Global Warning DENIERS - especially those scientists that are on the fossil fuel industry payroll and profit from peddling spin and lies in the public domain in order to confuse the general public about how serious AGW is.

Unless you are prepared to show where my calculations are wrong then it may well be YOUR credibility that has been sqaushed and dragged around through the mud at St.Kilda's old Moorabin ground before a game against the blues in the early 80's

Not a denier.

I'm happy to let Jarusa speak for me (and the rest of the vaguely sane) on the issue.

Who is jrusa?

Dont you have your own opinion on issues?

Did you ask Jerusa on who to vote for in last years federal election?

Do you need written permission to think from your MASTER JERUSA?

Now that is a BIG loss in crediblity - at leastif you believe something then make sure that it is based on your own personal convictions rather than the opinions of others

Every team has "minders" for their playmakers, so playing against most of them and having a minder for Juddy will more even up the numbers rather than make us play a man short.

Murphy was hardly targeted by the Lions. He was tackled in a contest and hurt his shoulder. No worse than what happened to Bower this year, except Murphy tried to play on with the injury.

Well why dont you tell ratts to allocate a minder for EACH player so that we play with 9 men each week? If its such a good idea?

One man short is a MASSIVE handicap to have. They have a lose man. We are not Geelong at the moment - NOT YET ANYWAY

Wasn't sure. You were inferring with your post that if Synbad wasn't employed by CFC he had no credibility on the issue, which is what we are here to do discuss - issues involving & surrounding CFC.

But if you had such credibility was all I was trying to find out. Sorry to have bothered you.

I am here to expose the masks that surrond the CFC.

My credibility is irrelevant to that task
