Thannkfully the Her-Sun didn't run an anniversary piece on Pagan's sacking. Don't need Denis giving his opinion of where we are at. All I know is where we are headed is a far brighter proposition than the one Pagan was taking us.

How stupid is that comment?

Take on the worst list, in the worst climate available with the least amount of finances and the most amount of sanctions and see how you go.

But did he jump ship? Did he ever give up? It was all about development for Denis. Cut him some slack. He should be applauded for taking it int he neck, but not putting blokes like Bryce to the wolves. He kept him at half back for development.

He tried his guts out, and in the end, maybe he was not up to it. He lost the group. But still, the reason we failed and have been down for a long time is a collection of bad decisions. Not at the hands of just Denis Pagan.

Agree that it wasn't totally Den Den's fault, but I'm sure the (alleged) $600 - $700k he was getting paid eased his pain somewhat and made it easier to get out of bed in the morning.

Why are we always searching for a scapegoat?

Always someone to blame guys?

It is history. A horrible intersection in our path to our 17th flag.

All behind Ratts and united we are. But I do not see the need for kicking or flogging the dead horse.

"Denis Pagan had a massive influence on my career. He taught me discipline and what was required to become a professional in football and in life. His work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to communicate with everyone describe him best. It was a privilege to be coached by him and I will be forever indebted to him."

Brendan Fevola
Carlton FC Full-Forward
2006 Coleman Medallist

That's from Denis's site.

Not sure I'd be using a quote like that to push my credentials.
