Had a call last night from a colleague of mine who works for another club. Said he was told that the contract was being withdrawn.

He said that there is a disagreement between Swann and Ratts over keeping Fev and what he is worth.

Made is clear that Swann is not a fan and wanted Fev sacked earlier in the year after the peeing on the window incident. Assured me that if Fev was at C'wood when Swann was CEO he would have been kicked out long ago.

Not normally one for this but this guy would know!

I heard that Fevola may be joining NASA next year as a civilian astronaut.

Glad to see Ratts won Stage 1 of the argument and obviously isn't shy about standing up for himself and his role at the club.

Pretty tough for a coach when management is interfering, if that really is the case. Highly unlikey, but in any case I agree, great that Ratts is big enough to stand up for himself. Just like Malthouse wouldn't let Swann sack Didak.

Despite all the pro and Fev talk going on, I have an important issue to raise (while firmly staying out of the 'should he stay or should he go' talk).

Anyone else think that if you were in Fev's situation, and let's say he wanted to leave, or at least shop around for the best price.

Do you think that Fev would play up the whole issue in a "i really want to stay at the club, it's just me and the club discussing the fine print" sort of attitude, but when he ended up finding another club and selling Carlton short would just turn around and "i love the club, tried everything i could", as if he wasn't the main party involved in his moving elsewhere?

You know, selling the "i was the good guy" routine to the media when it was he in fact that was offering his services to other clubs like a St Kilda street-walker?

I don't know I guess I'm thinking out aloud here - I'd like to think Fev isn't that sort of person, and that he wouldn't besmirch the club in that fashion...

...for what it's worth and sentiment aside I can see positives in either outcome (keep a goal machine or get a truckload of talent instead of Fev), I'm not concerned by the media in any way shape or form (take it with a grain of salt) - and my only real concern is how this looks for Carlton as a club, with this new admin and attitude I'd like to hope that the club deals with all this crap media with professionalism and, well... arrogance.

Unless i'm going insane, Swann was with us last year and that's when Didak wanted to hang out with gangsters. What are you on about Verbs :?

Send him to the Gold Coast. I could see him up there, feeding Warrick Capper grapes, pulling the wedgie out of each others speedo's telling each other how big there cannons are and how real the sun tan really looks.

Maybe Fev will announce he is quitting footy and he is lining up to fight Anthony Mundine or Jeff Fenech!

Sick of this shit....... Sick of Carro and Hutchy. They have bloody nothing else to talk about.

That $%$ Carro has had so much drama to write about at Bichmond and she has done nothing.

I would jump at a reasonable offer from another club, being a first round pick, and a good young player with a couple of years worth of developement under him.

My only concern with this is how the players involved in the trade handle the pressure of being the compensation for Fevola, and living up to the desperate fans expectations.

Hawthorn have proven it can work very well in your favour to make the hard calls when the timing is right....

It is difficult to arrange trades these days - even for B grade players...
(unless Fremantle is involved)

imagine arranging a trade for an A grade player such as Fev (With obvious flaws)

mmm.. who would trade A grade for A grade?

If you could get Buddy Franklin and Roughead for Fevola, Wiggins, Cloke and a first and second round pick you would do it... but Hawthorn would never do this trade.

Collingwood's A grade player is Didak. They wouldn't trade him.
Geelong have lots of A grade players. I couldn't see them trading any of them.
etc...
