And yet the Unofficial forums are the ones feeding the talk! We ourselves have nearly 70 pages now....

My advice would be to calm down, read & write about something else and just wait and see what happens.

Of course I know it won't happen... :P It's the Freeway Car Crash Syndrome.

If the talks are put off to the end of season we might see 700 pages by then :P

If I were Ratts, I would simply say to Fev

"Fev you are going to play for the Ants this week, and you will continue to do so until you decide that you want to play for Carlton. There is no room in my team for guys that are not committed to their teammates and this club"

In my opinion we can't devalue his currency by doing so, because every other team knows his strength and weakness and what they will be getting, what it does do is let other teams know he is definantly on the market and will allow them time to make arrangements to facilitate the deal.

If he does sign (which I think he will) then it will show him that he is not the one calling the shots and we are prepared to drop him to the bullants if we are not happy with his attitude or performance.

win/win

So three changes for this week? Out Fevola, Waite and Murphy.

Bugger. Waite won't play his 100th until he signs his contract. :(

Are waite and murphy negotiating through the media? ah, no
Do waite and murphy act and play selfishly? ah, no (waite is bloody inconsistant but)
Do waite and murphy have off field problems? ah, no
Do waite and murphy throw hissy fits on the ground if they are not delivered the ball on a silver platter? ah, no.

So your comments are as usual, designed for muck raking only.

Apart from your first point, which is actually little of Fevola's doing, none of what you brought up has anything to do with contracts...ie what this thread is about.

If you think Fevola should be dropped because he is selfish, has off-field problems, and has hissy fits on the ground there are better places to be discussing your worries, and it appears you have quite a few.

Bull dust.... they are all part of his performance and thus have a baring on his contract. You seriously can't be that silly.

Oh, and by the way, what worries are you referring to?

I'm actually sick to death of all this crap with Fevola and contract negotiations.

I think Velocity Sports has a lot to answer for in regards to this ... ever since they stepped in as Fev's manager, its been handled so badly that it's de-stabilising the club to a certain degree.

Velocity Sports aren't doing to well with Jonathan Brown either, maybe they are just a new company with no idea what to do ...

... this is where I'm starting to look at the moment for this disgraceful public contract negotiations.

Apparently VS only look after Brown's marketing contract and not his contract with the Lions.

Brown has another manager that handles that.

JB reminds me of that guy in Entourage.

I've no idea who's responsible for the hold up and I've no idea who's been playing the media game the hardest but why anyone would sign up with a player management agency that has Michael Voss as one of the 5 directors is totally beyond me.

After the way Voss shopped himself around last year before pulling out and then backed up this year with GC17 it's hard to believe he has the strategic nouse to represent anyone's interests sensibly or fairly.

West Coast must be in some serious structural strife if they reckon he's the answer.

Great player but shithouse at pretty much everything else he touches.

Pratt, Swan, Icke and Sticks offered him the coaching position last year.

You can't give him a whack without giving them a whack.

Matt Thompson on SEN at 2pm said reports of Carlton putting the contract off the table is incorrect. The offer is ready for him to sign.

With no sneaky leakers we are getting nothing making speculation rife. If we had sneaky leakers we'd all know alot more . Media speculation goes crazy without it and produces incorrect report after incorrect report. The cure's actually worse than the complaint.

Bring back the sneaky leaker !!!!!

Really, like Brown's, is it any different from a normal contract negotiation. It's the perception fuelled by incorrect reports than making it bad.

I'm guessing if Fev did his own negotiations he'd have signed by now. But now he has a hard ball manager negotiations are tougher. They can go hard because as a worst case senarios, or fall back, some club will offer him a million bucks a year, or close to it, to go through the PSD. Not a bad consolation and something I'm sure his management would push hard during negotiations. Then we'd get nothing. Unlikely but a great bargaining tool. In the unlikely event of a trade Fev, as Judd did, would choose one club greatly reducing our bargaining power given he's out of contract. Means we'd have to accept alot less than we want. On top of all that when you consider too the club knows we lack KP forwards it's not hard to work out Fev's management holds all the aces here.

I might be in the minority but I hope that if the club is entertaining thoughts of moving Fev on, it's around 70-30 for footballing and off-field reasons respectively.

My concerns are not so much based on his off-field antics as that if we are ever going to be a serious challenger when we have 1 key forward who is not really a team player and demands so much of the ball and attention. We need multiple options desperately and I don't envisage that with Fevola still being in the forward line unfortunately.

We'd be a so much better and unpredictable team if he sacrificed his own game for the benefit of the team (i.e. leading outside the 50 or to the boundaries, opening up space) but i don't know if he can do that.

As it stands, all our entries go direct to him - he demands it too - and we look terrible when he is shut down.

I can't believe how the club has put up with his crap. This is a child running around fabricating a story about walking out on his team mates or a few extra $$.

How i hope they've removed the offer from the table and get rid of him. Never liked him and never will. Couldn't care how many signatures he signs at training Fev is an individual and a disease.

Some one needs to grab him by the throat and he bitch man slap in the head. Or get Robert Walls to take a late night training session with some gloves and Fev standing in the middle.

That's a team and MC problem not Fev's.

Anyway, out of Fev's mouth on Ch 10 he said there's a Board meeting Monday so he hopes to sign around Tuesday.

All those "contract off the table" reports were incorrect according to ch.10.

No contest.

I just hate how people argue how great the guy is cause he signs signatures at training. How bout all the wrong things he has done, they far out way signing signatures after training

If there are no sneaky leakers, how does Matt Thompson know that the contract is still on the table? :)

And do you really consider Thompson a more authoratative source than Wilson?

We need more  !!!!!!! All hail the sneaky leaker !!!

In real terms it's better than all this inaccurate speculation.

Seems he'll sign around Tuesday. Fev's sneakly leak.

In this case, yes. Fev denied that himself. He said there's a Board meeting Monday, presumably for ratification, and Fev will sign after that possibly Tuesday. He was talking about it at a function filmed by ch.10.
