i personelly would not have changed the total of members we have on this board

ya see what i am thinking is who actually counts or registers our membership numbers?

now 3 things could have happened here

1 carlton have made a mistake in counting the memberships

2 the afl have made a mistake in counting our memberships

3 the media may have misprinted our numbers or mixed us up with another team

for us to change our membership level is saying we agree with what has been printed and what has been released by the afl

cheers

Unfortunately what has been released by the AFL is official no matter how many times we want to say otherwise.

As CB said, refer to page 29 for what has happened.

We have 40,600 members and THAT'S IT...

The AFL recognises 39,600 odd as eligible for games admission etc.....BUT the club should NEVER IMPLY the difference is made up of others who AREN'T members....sheer stupidity.

I know of a case of a 30 year plus member who is so old now that he can't make it to games, but still buys his "Blues member" membership....
IS anyone implying that we (club) should start saying....oh..."those don't count, or they aren't REAL members"....Like the AFL is STUPID enough to do.

If this sort of thing was done under the Smorgan regime there would be a torrent of abuse from supporters.

Obviously the current CFC have lots of brownie points already with the great work they have done, but this misrepresentation of the membership figures is really a disgrace.

Non game attending memberships have never been counted as members in the official numbers.

The expectation of Carlton supporters was that 40,000 members was the way it has always been measured in years past.

It was either deception or an oversight, I hope the club make it very clear to the supporters how they are representing membership numbers next season.

Does this mean that the "Silver Membership" I purchased last night won't be counted in the official tally, because I live in WA & won't be attending games for obvious reasons? :?

TC it also falls outside of the membership cut off date which is June 30th.

Are you sure? Because I purchased "Adults 11" on the web-site, which I am presuming I get access to 11 home games (if I so chose to) (ie) I make the trip across to Melb to watch them. I am confused. :?

If your ticket was bought before June 30th, it would have been counted as the ticket itself is counted as a membership by the AFL.

Yeah I did note that DUC but I was rather hoping it would be counted in next years tally or somewhere - Not that it was my sole reason for becoming a member. Just wanted to contribute financially to the club as there's not much else I can do from here. Bummer.

Jars is right, unfortunately.

And if any other club did the same thing we would go nuts at them.

This really is
