I hope when Fev re-signs cj69 that you go and support another team because you will have a huge conflict of interest.
No supporter who "bleeds" for his team makes comments like you do about our own.
Tired of reading your constant crap..........
I imagine that you dont really support carlton, only Fev. No supporter who bleeds for this team accepts the sort of onfield behaviour and lack of application that Fev has dished out throughout his career
Tired of reading your constant crap.........
No supporter supports the 64 goals, the terrific chasing and tackling and Fev-created turnovers that have resulted in goals. On target for over 90 goals, not to mention the 6 and BOG in the state game, Coleman Medals, Michael Tuck Medals. As well as kicking his many goals in our darkest period with half the opposition hanging of him, even when injured in 2005 and 2007. The games we have won many have been on the back of Fev. Few FF's have gone through that. He's kicked 64, we're surprisingly near the 8, things can't be that bad. Yes, I could put up with that crap all day. So much for constant crap.
Typical supporters. Tug themselves when he's kicking big goals regularly, but the first sign of something else down they come. No-one has 38 perfect footballers. Some just can't take the good with the odd bit of bad and just don't appreciate what he's done. See the bad but not the good.
MadBlue has a point. He's probably sick of Fev getting bagged at the drop of a hat too.
This is probably the only issue I've disagreed with CJ on 2 forum sites so I shouldn't go too hard, he posts well, but I get frustrated that only the bad aspects always get brought up with Fev with his upside outweighs the downside by a long way.
My measure of Fev has never been about goals - only application. If he chases and tackles well then he has had a good game regardless of the goals kicked. I've bagged Fev in games where he has kicked bags before for his selfish application. Equally, I've given Fev heaps of praise in games where he has only managed a goal or two. I'm not the only one who has done this either.
Goals kicked is a flawed measure of his worth/contribution to the team - its not just my opinion but the also the opinion of ALL his coaches (current and previous) as well as a fair few media scribes and footy experts.
Also just to point out that few FF's have had 95+% of I50 entries targeted to them throughout their career. If you disagree, then perhaps you would care to name a few players that had that level of opportunity.
We've won more games and been more competitive this year because we have improved as a team and ratten has been able to instill a sense of belief/positivity into the players (as opposed to the previous coach). Yes Fev has improved his goal output somewhat but to suggest that he is the reason why we are on the edges of the 8 is selling a fair few players short - surely even the fev worshippers like yourself would recognise that the addition of judd and stevens have been fairly significant to the team, not to mention the improved output of Murphy, Gibbs, Waite - the additions of jamison, bower etc - they have ALL contributed to the improved performance of the team.
Fev is but a minor aspect of the teams improved showing.
Typical Fev worshipper - they think the club revolves around the one player

No, not a worshipper. Telling it like it is. He's an important part of out set-up as is Judd. Especially as we have no other KP forwards. Not as if we have someone to jump in and take his place. Not worshipping.........reality of the situation. Difficult??? Or does it need to be explained more simply?
The 95% + of entries also meant most of the defence congomerated around him too making life very tough. Despite that he's booted a bucketload of goals and won games for us. Desperate argument to knock him and support your argument. Think I explained it all pretty well the first time, don't need to do it again. Not rocket science to understand it. Sure you can do that. If you're not clever enough to do that then there's no hope.
The cynicism in me says that if his signing is right we'll hear about it not long after 9.30pm, Thursday night on Ch.9.
According to you, one would think that no team has ever won a game without a dominant KP forward whereas this is clearly not the case.
At this stage in time we clearly need to develop our other forwards (not just KP ones). Unless we are able to reduce the 95+% entries to Fev, then we wont progress as a team regardless of whether fev kicks 100 or 150 goals etc. Our reliance on Fev is what holds us back as a team. Could you imagine what would happen if Fev was on track for 150+ goals but 1/2way through the season did a knee which caused him to miss the rest of the year? We'd be stuffed
The question is whether or not we can change the mindset of our players to not kick it to fev all the time (and that he doesnt demand the ball all the time). History suggests that we will have difficulties doing so. Combined withi his continual questionable application/temperment on field that makes him an expendable player in my book (judd on the otherhand has no such issues).
Whilst I'm happy to retain Fev as a player I dont want him to remain as our FF target that attracts all the I50 entries as this holds us back as a team. Rather, I'd play him as a permanant roaming CHF - in effect forcing our midfielders to kick to other forwards (and hence giving them the opportunity to develop as players) whilst still enabling Fev to remain as a dangerous option for goal due to his long kicking. The only problem here though is whether Fev has the fitness base to play such a role and as to whether he would accept this newer role in the team. To date there has been no indication that Fev can play this role consistently (though I'd love to be proved wrong).
In terms of goals kicked, its not rocket science - what is good for Fev (colemans etc) is not necessarily good for the club. If we can balance the two then we have done very well. If we cant balance the two then we need to look for a trade.
Despite my posting history I've always expected Fev to remain with the club (not just this season but the previous 7 or so years). Clubs largely operate on emotion, its the nature of sport. Few clubs would be willing to pull the trigger on trades that would generate a large emotional uproar amongst the supporters.
The only club that I can think of that has pulled such a trade would be the hawks/freo trade of croad (1st time around) which netted them luke hodge which ended up being a massive win for them - if anyone else can think of other similar trades feel free to mention them.
In summary of the waffle, I expect Fev to sign, though will be pleasantly surprised if he doesnt and we end up trading him because I think we can get a very good package of picks and players in return
