Of all the people to single out he picks Harvey, when Fevola who was a St Kilda supporter and has no doubt admired Harvey since he was 4 years old, has his last chance to say goodbye.

That article is quoting Bucks from his appearance on AFL Gameday. When he said it, they were showing the footage of Fev's hugging spree. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure when he mentioned Harvey he was on screen at that moment.

The footage I saw he was hugging everyone- Hughston- Milne Harvey - IT was an all out hug fest (nearly a bit of tongue to)- Then he turned saw the rest of the playing group looking pretty upset - then he pulled an angry face and starting tugging at his hair - stark contrast to what was happening a few seconds earlier

More than likely that's why he mentioned Harvey. Fair enough if that's the case.

I remember in the late 80s or early 90s after we beat Hawthorn and Chris Langford was laughing and joking with the Carlton boys after the game. There was a little bit of talk about it in the media but none of this frothing at the mouth stuff we see in this day and age.

Then he looked all somber and sad in the dressing rooms slumped against the wall. It’s just all an act with Fevola – the guy should be playing an individual sport like Tennis, Squash or Golf.
He was a disgrace on Friday night – I felt really sick seeing him hugging and laughing with the St.Kilda boys after such a devastating loss.
Then the call to his bogan mates on Dribble M on the Saturday to defend his actions from the night before was both deplorable and embarrassing.

Going a bit overboard here I reckon ..yeah Fev's got a bit too much 'theatre' in his game at times for my liking but let's not get carried away..

Too much of an individual Budzy.
What was he doing a few weeks ago talking to the Richmond cheer squad instead of congratulating his teammate who had just kicked a goal to seal the game?
Fev is all about Fev and committing 3 years for $700 is a big gamble on that guy.

Nathan Buckley is 100% right with what he said on the Sunday morning show.

If Fevola wants to hug every single St Kilda player do it at the night club that he goes to after the game, don't do it on the field in front of many distressed Carlton supporters. A simple handshake will suffice at that moment.

I imagine that you dont really support carlton, only Fev. No supporter who bleeds for this team accepts the sort of onfield behaviour and lack of application that Fev has dished out throughout his career

I just got a call from a usually reliable source that Fev has indeed put pen to paper in the last hour or so.

I'm told it is 3 years with an option. 2.1 mill front-loaded. My friends info indicates that it is 2009: 800, 2010: 700 & 2011: 600.

We will see shortly I guess.

Would like to get some other opinions on this as I find this highly interesting!!!!

In my part time work as a Lecturer I often encourage debate amongst my students and encourage them to look at the situation without emotion.

This however can be very hard to do when it comes to football as it is such an emotional pastime.

Jim & MB have accused me of having an opinion of which is derogitory to the Carlton Football Club and does not make me a true supporter.

I will say I totally disagree with this comment but am open to others opinions.

The reason I post on this site is that I can voice my opinion and it is open for debate. For the most part the discussion is civilised and interesting. There are numerous posters (Melvey, Synbad, RR, BondiBlue, Molly, Mjonc etc) on this website that I enjoy reading as they put forward an intelligent and well thought out opinion.

Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't BUT what I believe is important is that I will NEVER berate a person for having another opinion. To me if we do that there is no point in posting.

Their have been numerous times that I have been proven wrong and have been quite happy to admit this.

I am not particularly worried about the opinions of these two as from what I have read they are both rude and are yet to back up their opinions with FACT. I am also strong on the use of abuse on this site as I believe it is the view of a closed mind and totally unneccesary.
What is interesting is that these two have no knowledge of me, have never met me and have no idea what I am like, yet they can form a personal opinion. I have had 18 years as a professional psychologist yet I cannot do that, all I can say is well done!

BUT as I have stated I am open to comment, my over analytical mind will enjoy it.

In regards to the Fevola issue I AM strong on my opinion. WHY? I worked with him at U18 level and have had conversations with him on several occassions. My PROFESSIONAL opinion is that he is a negative on the club and for me the club should ALWAYS come first. This is not an attack on his personality or his ability. This is based on his effect on the CLUB!

The good thing about this is that TIME will be the judge.

I believe Fev will stay but it is important that his bad moments are not tolerated. The damage it does is enormous. No one is happier than I when he is ON. He is a joy to watch.

I have been a member since 1978 and find it incredible that someone can make an assessment on my support for our club.

Any opinions will be appreciated! Please feel free to be candid, I would prefer it.

No supporter supports the 64 goals, the terrific chasing and tackling and Fev-created turnovers that have resulted in goals. On target for over 90 goals, not to mention the 6 and BOG in the state game, Coleman Medals, Michael Tuck Medals. As well as kicking his many goals in our darkest period with half the opposition hanging of him, even when injured in 2005 and 2007. The games we have won many have been on the back of Fev. Few FF's have gone through that. He's kicked 64, we're surprisingly near the 8, things can't be that bad. Yes, I could put up with that crap all day. So much for constant crap.

Typical supporters. Tug themselves when he's kicking big goals regularly, but the first sign of something else down they come. No-one has 38 perfect footballers. Some just can't take the good with the odd bit of bad and just don't appreciate what he's done. See the bad but not the good.

MadBlue has a point. He's probably sick of Fev getting bagged at the drop of a hat too.

This is probably the only issue I've disagreed with CJ on 2 forum sites so I shouldn't go too hard, he posts well, but I get frustrated that only the bad aspects always get brought up with Fev with his upside outweighs the downside by a long way.

Hope you are right and put an end to all this. Seems odd though to front end his contract as 3rd year is on veterans list, we cant have much room left in salary cap.

The front-loading is consistent with media speculation.

First we sign Fev.
Then we sign Brown.
Along comes Kerr and Brogan.

Top 3.

Third year it's the average that's reflected on the Vet's list. Good idea to front-load Fev and Judd's contracts while our other guns are still young. Leaves lots of room for later.

My opinion is that you have responded to a rather crudely put post in a well reasoned and civilised way, while still getting your point across. There have been one or two others who have responded the same way.

Thank you. :-D

Take a leaf everyone....it can be done.
