i can't understand why some people are pissed off at the way fev handled himself in today's interview. for me, that was so bloody overdue and it was about time he publicly and firmly stated that he wants to stay at carlton. you people can't expect fev to speak in an eductaed way because that's just not him but i thought finally he spoke up and put the media in their place. now he needs to back up his words and sign asap. he's done himself no good in the way he's handled these negotiations thus far and it's about time he brought it all to an end and switched the focus back to what's happening on the field.

Not surprised at this at all. Maybe he was listening to talkback after the game. A lot of supporters went for him.

In fairness to Fev he knows that this will be his last chance to earn some decent money. I can't see him doing much after football.

This is why i think Fev, Club and Management needed to come out and say something. The more you say nothing, the more they speculate. I think our club needs to keep its members informed about contract negotiations as we are the club, and should know these things. Maybe on the club website from time to time give us updates, like they did in the Juddy negotiations.

Its only fair that we know something, nothing like money or anything just just a quick note about who they are negotiating with and how they are going.

I love what Fev said today, although he should let his actions do the talking, such as discipline on the field and signing the damn contract. This will get people off his back for good, if thats what he wants.

Sports Tonight on Channel 10 just said that "Fev finally commits to the Blues". Ad break now. Will write more when I get more info.

Doh! Was doing something so only heard the last bit. Heard that Fev said he will sign by the end of the month. So it's not actually signed yet.

Fev rang Triple M and said he wants to stay with the blues and will sign by end of the month.

You make it sound as if that is the Clubs problem.

If Fev is asking for a reputed $700,000 for 3 years then look at it this way. That's $2,100,000.

Currently an annual wage of $80,000 for the average Joe is not bad. That's 26 yrs worth of wages in just 3 years. Tough gig.

Fevola is acting like a selfish dill

Quote:
BRENDAN Fevola's narcissistic behaviour in recent months has not been seen in AFL football since Jason Akermanis' desperate final months at Brisbane back in 2006. And we all know how that ended up.

Only Fevola could have been listening to all the radio debate yesterday that surrounded his dirty Friday night at the MCG and feel moved to call in and defend himself. And what a flimsy defence it was.

If she's gonna comment on Fev's game, maybe she should have watched it. No one who watched the game would have said Murph's final quarter was heroic (he had two touches). Gibbs was the man and he deserves his kudos.

Oh, and Ratts was on Sen not 3AW. Although none of this should surprise considering her history playing the Chinese Whisper game.

He was on 3AW as the pre-match guest (for the filth-Crows game) but also spoke to SEN.

You are right on the Murphy call however...Caro should stick to football politics...remember she did tip Melbourne to finish 5th.

Irrespective of who wrote the article - about time it was said. The club is greater than any individual.

Look unfortunately for Fev he is a personality ... right???
And he is unusual..... which makes him who he is....

HE AINT THE ONLY AFL FOOTBALLER OUT OF CONTRACT....

but he does sell papers and is news cos he is unusual...

What gets me.... is why the other 150 off unsigned footballers for next year dont have their testicals squeezed???

Surely its not about ratings ????

People fall for the rubbish all the time... they get into hysterics and have their knickers in a knot...

Again... why does Fev have to sign now and noone else who hasnt signed their contract not have to????
Cant you see the stupidity and insignificance of the whole thing???

Worst bit is Ratts has to get involved too...just to make the whole thing even more silly......
.. which means Fev has to cal the radio stations to say.... "Look i havent signed but i will in a month...im not going anywhere........"

which just raises the point.... how can he negotaitate anything if he has already publically stated he is staying???

which makes the whole thing a farce... and nonsensical....

so why even worry about it if its flower [REDACTED] in the head????

I can't wait for Fev to read that article.

I love what Mark Maclueand his team mates would have done in the glory days.

Pull your head in Fev.

Money does not maketh the man.

You have alot to prove and improve...now get out there and help play your bit to get us the Holy Grail.

Yeah, when she tries to expand her football nous, it doesn't look good.

But enough about Caro. This is All About Fev.

Article spot on
Maclure spot on
Fevola was pathetic Friday night
Frustrating

He is lucky he is getting 3 years

He obviously is staying but if he peforms the way he did Friday night he should be dropped and played in defence with an ant on his chest.

Its the only way he is going to grow up and realise the team is greater than him

Thats the issue here

And if he does sign Ratten has to have a consequence in place when Fevola plays like he played Friday night

If his attitude is poor then he gets dropped

If he wants to stay a Blue he needs to show some pride in the jumper.

Caro's a know-nothing. Heavy into rubbish and politics because she knows nothing about football. Fev, until yesterday, has said absolutely nothing so all we had was media speculation that dragged on and on and on. People being as dumb as they are get sucked in by the perception, not the reality, and feel the need to comment. If he says something we tell him to keep his mouth shut, if he says nothing still seems he cops it. Which way do people want it? If he were an average player or not needed he'd be out the door (ask JK, Lance) but seeing he's not, and we lack KP options, the club need him more than he needs the club. A player is allowed to negotiate his contract to get the best possible deal for himself, like it's only round 15.

Fev finally felt the need to say something after uninformed idiot after more uniformed idiots felt the need to keep putting their 2 bobs worth in unecessarily. Caro writes what Caro thinks will give her a headline. If it suited to to take the opposite view, she would irrespective of circumstances. That's what scum journos do.

I listened to Sellars yesterday. I normally like him but yesterday he spoke absolute crap on 3 different subjects in 15 minutes. He doesn't like Fev so I don't take notice of anything he says about him.
