CONS:
Lost this match on Thursday night...
Lacked height, pace and agression down back - oh, that's right, we have O'Halpin and Walker running around in the Ants this weekend. Phieffer might have been handy too.

Our bottom six performed waaaay below their bottom six...

Pros:
- Gibbs
- Judd
- the fact that we were somehow still in with a shot there in the last quarter, despite the lack of pros

Cons:
- a tall defender short (dropping Setanta was a big mistake)
- Ratten out-coached (very slow to react tonight)
- the use of Carrazzo (the bloke won our B&F playing on the ball - why the absolute reluctance to reintroduce him to the midfield rotation at any stage during the match?)
- the answer to (or cause of) the previous point: we have no other smaller players, perhaps the developing Browne aside, who have even a vague sense of defensive responsibility, so we have a total lack of versatility if a small forward gets on top of us
- Fevola - how do you solve a problem like Brendan? How can a bloke whose attitude is so inconsistent be worth an elite pay-packet? Quite plainly doesn't give a stuff about anyone but himself, and is totally preoccupied with what the team effort can give him, rather than what he can do for the team...and yet, sadly, we're totally dependent on him. One wonders if we'd be a better, healthier team now if we'd moved him on years ago, and been forced to find an alternative...

Too irritable to be bothered typing any more really.

Dissapointing result

Should have been 4-5 goals up at end of First quarter

Pros
Judd Great last quarter pity he lacked support
Gibbs Developing into a elite player
Betts Was the spark and just kept us in the game at crucial times in the macth

Cons
Dissapointing games from Cloke, Russell, Edwards, Murphy Ando and Stevo.

Need to have some changes players which should be looked at for next week - Santatnta, Walker, Phiefer and Armfield if he has recoveredmaybe Banister if he is playing again.
Nothing worse loosing another game to these pretenders and we should have beaten them tonite.
We played like we expected to win instead of playing and doing what we need to win. Go back 2 weeks and we played the same way as when we played the Bombers.

The boys are getting there, they will get over intial misses and keep on fighting, we saw that this year in Round 4, that was a 4 quater effort. Just have to keep their heads up if they hit a point. The world isnt going to blow up if you do. Fisher had an AWESOME 7 point play snapping goal. :)

Pros:

Gibbs clearly bog for the blues, had a great game but missed one defensive mark. forgot when but it was barely 15m, in front of the members.

Eddie was electricfying - moved in center in 4th was quick again.

Judd - some say he was quiet early on, but his handballs were to the running man and most times these targets were Gibbs, Browne and to his fav Eddie. Then in the 4th decided to tear it up himself. There was this one classic scene Im not sure if you saw it on tv, But Judd was in the middle, Krooze was getting ready to ruck, Murph was standing near and Juddy forcefully waves Gibbs into the centre front and square soldier. Then u saw the wash up as Kroozes tap to Judds chest to his boot to Fevs chest to goal.

Jamo - started all over the place - loose ? then had the better of cry baby
nick when moved on him. I think the guy hurt his right arm, was clutching it at one stage in pain but seemed ok think in the 3rd. One thing he did that stood out he moved forward ran to wing kicked lace out to fev.

Browne - Has reliable hands, gets around the pack well for handball recieves, juddys new friend.

Russell - Had an ok game, for those that were there, I dont think you cant not agree with me he was trying all night when some werent. With Edwards and Fish being rotated with Cheif, Russel was playing forward most night and always presenting and leading AND the boys with what ever scraps of disposal they were getting WERE honouring Russell, which is good to see. Imagine if everything he did was gold. One stage they had Max on Russell

Waite being moved forward(pro) - Edwards in defence(con). Waite is BETTER FORWARD, Can we just leave him there along side fev and Eddy SOLVED.

Murph - was quiet BUT is getting tough almost Judd like when he is scrapping for the ball on the deck, goes in hard and gets up and around just needs to get the ball out and Perfect. I like Bentick he needs to do more of that rather then falling with the tackle all the time, as that my only problem with Bentick.

CONS:

Should have buried them in the first quater.

Carlos should not have been left out = unfortunately Joe Anderson was a better choice to omit.
Therefore = No Agression* See best Moment.

Thornton MUST NEVER do a silly articles in the MX before the game, as he was off.

DISPOSAL decisions were poor.

I hate you Milne fair dinkum... your a joke.

Dal Santo + Hayes played well.

Big Sooky la la I love Stephanie MacIntosh nick had his gimme gimme frees pfft.

*Best Moment - Wiggins roughing one guy up and going off (blood rule) and still giving it to the bloke whilst running to the interchange. Then at one point back on the center bounce complete with tape on his head and the St k player also with tape across his head still going for it. Its a shame he didnt do to much more to affirm his standing for future PM for mine after todays performance.

Pros
- GIBBS...a Rolls Royce. Don't be surprised if he is the no 1 midfielder in the comp within a couple of years.
- Judd in the 1st and last qtr.
- Browne..didn't do a great deal tonight but shows that he will be a player
- Betts
- crowd of over 55K despite the weather conditions.

Cons
- Russell and Edwards won't make it...move them on and give some of the other kids a run.
- Anderson dissapointing but is only as 2nd year player and deserves another year.
- Our ruck division...put Hampson in the side...I know he is very raw but at least he always provides a contest.
- Fev's antics yet again.
Bit hard on Anderson, sure he did a few mistakes but none cost us goals. I think you getting Edwards confused with him,he turned it over that cost us a goal. I even heard the commentator get both of them mixed up once or twice.

Cons:

- flower Carlton "supporters" threatening to brawl with each other in the gold members area, grown men with their sons next to them, disgraceful.
- Waite got towelled up, made a massive mistake when we were 12 pts down
- Cloke had a shocker in the ruck
- Jordan Russell yet again making costly turnovers
- Losing to this pathetic excuse for a football club 10 times in a row
- Fev sooking again
- Should have been 4 goals up at least at quarter time, bad kicking let them back in the game
- Disgraceful umpiring yet again

Pros:

- Judd is all class, cant wait for next season when he is fully fit and has a pre season
- Gibbs will be a star

Haven't seen the game so can't be too specific.
Cons:
We should have played Setanta. He gives us agression and versatility plus athleticism and is getting great at spoiling marks.
Waite killed Richo playing out on the wing. He isn't so good against stay-at-home KPP and was wasted and beaten. When he went forward we had NO Setanta to cover his absence.
jamo getting kicks forward and Edwards andFisher getting them down back. WTF?
The rucks have been beaten 15 times this year and for once our mids couldn't rove to a losing ruck so we got killed in clearances for 3/4 of the game. Hampson has to get a game so he can learn against the better rucks. At least he has a 50-50 chance of getting his hand to it. If we can get a GOOD established ruck, it would be worth our first pick.
Russell's kicking for goal is less than U14 standard. there is NO excuse for his consistently missing set shots from less than 30 metres out.
Fisher can't kick long enough so he should camp closer to the goals.
Fev gets special treatment and I for one wouldn't be diasppointed of we try and replace him. Hard to do but he won't be around forwver and we have no succession plan as far as I can see.
Judd is a wonderful player but has no inkling of manning up his bloke. Whilst Judd had agreat 4th qtr, it was Gram who cut us to pieces earlier, getting 6 or more early clearances before half time, plus a goal. Judd likes to shoot it out with his bloke and so if opposition teams don't tag him, but run off him, their man will always get a bit of it.
Selection overall. Kreuzer should be at CHF. Waite running loose. Setanta at CHB. Hampson rucking with Cloke rotating with Kreuzer. Carrazo is a midfielder. Armfield is a defensive livewire.
We have a lot of gutrunners developing but only Eddie seems to have raw pace. The Ants don't seem to be blessed with it either. Maybe we need to pick up a super-quick player from somewhere. I wanted Rodan once but it seems he was no good.
Attitude. We think we can win by playing one qtr of footy. So do a lot of posters on TC. We have to play the entire game and take all our chances.

Pros:
It sounded like Gibbs had a great game and if what I hear from the so-called experts is true, we have a gem.
Judd took control in the 4th and almost got us there.
Eddie Betts bobbed up and did his job.
Murphy appeared in the call a lot in the latter stages.
Browne knows how to get it.
We aren't going toplay finals so we have nothing to lose by playing the fringe players to see if they've got it.
Walks to come back soon.
Setanta to come back soon.
We have a winnable game next week.
Even though we lost, we fought it out to the almost end and their winning average against us didn't feature.

There's always next week to show we learned from this. I hope we did.

bentick too inconsistent at his age - doesn't deserve a run next week.
russell tries hard but needs a spell.

out: bentick, russell
in: walker, pfeifer.

Pro's

Bryce is consistantly performing at an elite level - A grader.

Jamo performing despite being restricted by a dodgy shoulder.

Con's

Hands of stone. Poor skill execution.

Being way too reliant on 'good' Fev turning up to play.

JR's stats - 42% disposal efficiency, 6 clangers. Unacceptable.

pros:

The brilliant Judd and Gibbs show
Joey Anderson shows a bit

cons:
Fisher whats going on here with this bloke..surely we have better players to try out
Russell just can't kick. Great mark but doesn't watch the ball onto his boot
Very scared at the thought that Fevola is going to sign a contract for $700k over 3 years.

PROS
Gibbs
Judd
Browne showed class
Ando will be good in a year or so
Jamo ordinary early but good late ag Riewoldt. But his shoulder is stuffed send him for an op now so he's right for pre season.
Look forward to Sydney Blues forensic deconstruction of our backline mistakes. Sydney is savage on any Setanta mistake, so I am sure he won't play favourites and will be just as savage on the msised spoils, missed tackles mistakes last night

CONS
Kicking. Is it too much too ask that AFL footballers can execute basic skills when under no pressure. Waite's pass to JRs feet in last when under no pressure is an example - not a lack of skill, a lack of care. Jarred gives up 2-3 goal per week with lazy disposal
Fish - can't kick more than 30 meteres, doesn't hurt the opposition and goes to ground too often. He needs to be thrid tall not CHF
Move Waite forward. We have to have a quality second target
Cloek got smashed
Carazzo got smashed, maybe we need to use him as a Ling type run with mid.

PROS:
Gibbs- superb
Judd- led by example
Ando- showed dash
Jamo- once given the chance
Betts- didn't hold the marks like usual but crumbed well

CONS:
Fisher- needs to be able to kick goals
Russell- has to be out of favours
Waite- couldn't keep up
Ratts- Stubborn, took to long to make crucial changes
Ruck- haven't got a genuine one, Kreuz improving, Cloke just isn't one.
MC- Setants would of given us another option, Walks too

Having Fev off leaves us with no dimensions up forward at the moment, I'd rather be one dimensional. or just start grooming more people down there FFS.

I understand everyones disappointment with losing to those scumbags again, and believe me i nearly jumped the fence on a few occasions, see ** below, BUT in the cold hard light of day, remember the following:

PRO's:
- 7 wins and 8 losses after 15 rounds is very good considering where we were last season, massive improvement from last season.

- We have been in every game and havent been bashed ( other than Geelong)

- Bryce Gibbs will be a brownlow medallist

- Kruzer is a very good player, just enjoy watching this blokes rise to stardom, he will be a gun! Does the team things always!

- Judd is what a captain should be, steps up when we need him

- We have kids like Browne, Bower, Jamo, Anderson and Armfield that have played decent footy this season and will only improve

- Betts in my opinion has been one of our most consistent players this season, very good to date

- Jamison is becoming a very solid defender, no fuss or fanfare, knows hiw limits.... really like him

CON's
- Reliance on Fevola and Fevolas attitude when its not going his way

- Forwards that cant kick for goal ( mainly Fisher )

- Our inability to stop small forwards ** when Milne broke through three tackles on the boundary line and kicked a goal and over celebrated i nearly jumped the fence, why cant someone just smash him

- Our ruck department, we need to do something about it, continually getting beaten

- THAT BULLS*IT freekick against Bentick when we had all the momentum and were 7 pts down... how wasnt that too high??? He got a free against him holding the ball... ripped the heart out ** had one leg over the fence

- Me being that angry last night cant be good for my health
