jars if you are trying to prove a point you should have excluded interstaters.

 Maybe, but a member is a member, a supporter is a supporter. How would that be done exactly anyway?

just tell KK & Co. to bugger off, (even though they are in 'the biggest market')......

I think you will find that people like to choose which games they go to, usually us devoted supporters only miss games due to unforseen circumstances, illness, birthdays, weddings etc.......missing a home game cos it's played on the gold coast doesn't fall in to that category

... that's right, and there are bugger all 'devoted' Carlton supporters even on a site full of fanatics like this one.

So a GC game is not a dealbreaker to the vast majority of Carlton supporters.

Poor logic! How on Earth do you come to that conclusion Jarusa?

The poll is flawed due to the demographic of TC, but more on that later. For now, let's take the poll as it is.

The last time I looked the poll on showed 18% are every-weekers. Extrapolate that figure to Carlton members and you get:

.18*41000 = 7200 every-weekers

But, talkingcarlton is used much more frequently by those who are distanced from the heart of navybluedom, as a means to get closer to the club when you're in Sydney, Beijing etc. A large percentage of posters on here aren't from Melbourne.

Furthermore, most every-weekers see enough and read enough in the mainstream media in Melbourne to feel like they don;t need TC (how wrong they are!). I know a massive group of every-weekers personally (probably > 100), and I only know 1 besides myself who posts here (hi MonstaBlue), and 2 other readers. In other words, this poll grossly underestimates the amount of members that go week-in week-out.

I would say that the true proportion of members who are every-weekers is closer to 25-30% (conservative estimate), which would mean.

(.25*41000, 0.3*41000) = 10,250-12,300 conservatively. Which would make more sense given our crowds.

For the purposes of definition - 'every-weeker' = supporter who goes to every game in Melbourne exempting circumstances of illness, birth, death, close friend wedding and similar events.

In any case, I believe that selling home games diminishes the brand regardless of where you're from or how often you go - but that's for another thread.

It's only you that said 'only people who go every week would care'

And - if you live in Melbourne and aren't an every-weeker, BECOME ONE!!

Watching on TV is crap, it's the radio but with a picture of the guy holding the ball. Can't see set ups, match ups, anything.

TV leads to comments on here like "I watched the tape and thought Setanta did well against Richmond"  When Setanta had to man up tight and block double-back leads, the TV camera is focussed on Deledio on their HBF!

I was at the MCG the day Prenders stood Pavlich for the first 20 minutes in front of 15000 people.
I think I've said enough, the memory is too painful.

Zero.

Its a tad expensive to attend games.

What about the day Fevola kicked nearly the entire score against the Saints?
