online poll

Do you think Nicole Kidman should have named her daughter Sunday Rose?

BANISHED Sydney forward Barry Hall believes the Swans are trying to shaft him to make room for Carlton's Brendan Fevola.

That is the explosive claim made by Geelong Advertiser columnist John Barnes today, as speculation mounts about a possible offer by Sydney to the Blues' spearhead.
Have your say on the feedback form below

Barnes also claims Fevola met Swans coach Paul Roos in Sydney on Saturday, despite the club's continued denial of any offer, or future offer.

See Barry Hall photo gallery here

"A friend of mine in Sydney rang me up on Tuesday after having a coffee with Barry Hall," Barnes writes.

"It's like Barry Hall was telling my friend that they're trying to force him out the back door because they think they've got something else lined up. That's what Barry thinks.

"I think they're trying to shaft Barry for a newer model.

"Hence Adam Goodes picking up Brendan Fevola at the hotel last Saturday to meet with coach Paul Roos.

"And they're still denying it. Someone's playing funny buggers."

Hall was stood down indefinitely by the Swans on Monday after a recommendation from club psychologist Grant Brecht following another run-in with the AFL match review panel from last weekend's game against Collingwood.

Barnes says he understands why Fevola would be tempted to listen to Sydney's offer, reportedly a four-year deal.

"My personal opinion is, I think Fev will definitely look at every option, and what man wouldn't, with the figures they're chucking around," he says.

"He's got a hard decision to make.

"Even still, I reckon Barry's got a right to be angry.

"It's amazing how footy will chew you up and spit you out once they've finished with you."

I just wish Fev would hurry up and sign .. its causing unnecessary attention to the individual and the team.

This is a great time to stitch up a great trade. We are in the box seat. If the Swans want him then it is going to cost them.

I'd rather he sign after tomorrow night, one more 'contract proving' game would be nice

Fev was on Nova early this morning around 8.00 am mucking around with Hughesy with some sort of poker competition.

I did hear something about signing a contract for 3 years worth $2.1M, but I did not hear the full report. All I heard was signing this afternoon. Heard it before I went to Lunch.

Will keep an ear out.

Nova Exclusive on the FEV

In a huge nova sport's scoop we're hearing Brendan Fevola will sign a 3 year deal with Carlton worth 2.1 million dollars. The Fev will train with the Blues this morning and will then put pen to paper, its understood the forward will make an announcment on his 700 thousand dollar per year deal later today.

sen just said something about fev being told by the club that he either signs tomorrow or the deal's off and fev's managaer said it's not likely he'll sign tomorrow. i only heard the very end of it though so i probably missed a few important bits.
