I was lucky enough to have a few chats with JC on Wednesday. A more down to earth guy you couldn't meet.

You can take the boy out of Bendigo but you can't take Bendigo out of the boy. ( Circa 1970-1990 Bendigo that is :-) ).

Regards Cazzesman

Firstly I think we are fitter than previous years, but is our ability to run out games for some of the last quarter due to fitness soley or our inability to chase and man up during the middle quarters?

IMO we seem to conserve energy during patches of the game and stop the chasing, manning up that typically ends us in the opposition going on a scoring spree. The Essendon* and Saints game showed us up in this area and luckily Richmond couldn't kick straight.

Managed to get to training the other Thursday whilst on holiday in Melb and noticed behind the Pratt stand some altitude training 'equipment' installed.

Looks fairly new and was set up to pump appropriate atmosphere into a room or something . It is that orange refrigeration gear that is near main entrance under the stand,

Does anyone have any info on this, is it part of the secret ingredient for our sudden rise in fitness ?

Didn't realise Hosko was the boxing coach... Plenty of the old zone showing through at the club.

Makes me even more cut that the Scum moved in on our turf with the Bendigo Bummers... not that it was an option for our club, but still...

But fitness doesn't equal kicking ability. So why is it that we kick like crap for 3/4 of games, and then suddenly hit targets everytime?

In the last qtr we smashed them out of the middle so that they couldn't get numbers back in time. Fev and co then had one on one contests. It is as much decision making as it is kicking. They can hit targets when Fev is on the lead; but when there are numbers back they don't seem to know what to do with it.

I dare say, if we're able to outrun our opponents then earlier in the game they are able to pressure us more into making said kicking errors, then, as the game goes on if our fitness holds up where able to run off our opponents and play with more freedom.

The fitness level of these kids continues to amaze me; and we're only kids.

Cordy is the 'Doc' and Pratt is 'God' for getting the best and nothing but the best.

Imagine what he will do with a full preseason!!!

Just a classic example of the results when you get the BEST person for the job.

Love it when this man's thread is brought up again.

He is just brilliant. Ever since his days with the baggy green I have been in awe of his results & the players he's involved with seem to love him, & his work too.

One of THE aquisitions this year & will benefit us for many more years to come hopefully.

:-D :-D

Good article.

Why would you not enjoy spending time with, not only a good bloke from all accounts, but a bloke who will get the best out of you, & for you, while your spending time with him.

Fantastic.
