Can you actually get the damn thing to work? If I try and watch a game it's a miracle if the thing actually loads in the first place, and then if it does it invariably stutters and stutters and eventually just gives up. I hate the AFL website, and I hate the bigpond video function!

worst sports website going around......they should be ashamed of it!!

Hi speed connection is what's required boys, plus a quick ass computer if you don't have them then give up.

No, it's not just that.

The AFL site is shite.

For all the cash splashing about at AFL house, it looks and feels like their internet budget was a few goldies they found lying around.

I rely on TC, including match times when you can listen via the links P(12) provides and chat with the rest of the crowd from the Carlton League of Nations.
Or not.

I just had the BEST weekend for years and years! The AFL has FINALLY given Bigpond the flick and handed over the video function to Aussie Sports TV. If you go to the video section of the AFL site and click on a game it now redirects you to http://www.afl.aussiesport.tv/page/loginOrBuy. I bought a one month subscription for £2 and shreiked in sheer delight as AT LONG LAST I was able to watch streaming video crystal clear without the Bigpond multiple frustrations I used to ahve to contend with: buffering, fatal stalls. audio without video, video without audio, HONEST TO GOD (depsite a 4MB/s connection). WHY OH WHY was Bigpond unable to deliver technology that is pervasive throughout the web??? Anyway THANK GOD all is well now! Have missed SO MANY games due to the bigpond crap, but this last weekdnd it was me and my beloved Blues. Only shame is that it seems Ausie Sport TV only have the last three weeks games up - hopefully in time they will backfill their library.

For everyone overseas - ENJOY!

And thanks to the AFL for finally getting this right - but no thanks for taking eight years to get there!

Thanks, London and welcome to TC and the Carlton League of Nations. I think I'll have a crack at it if I can buy a sub. I tried another site but unless sandramcd can get me the channel code from Justin, I think I'll have to be content with the radio or maybe this.

Just signed up and watched the Richmond game.
Perfect quality and now I hope it is live against the Saints. If not, I'll watch it as soon as possible afterwards.
Thanks again, London.

It would be a shame for the excellent information contained in this thread to disappear of the front page so it will no longer get accessed by any future readers of TC who are overseas.

Mods, where would be a good place to keep this thread/info.

Maybe not a sticky, but a dedicated subforum for overseas blues?

A subforum ("TalkingOverseas"?) is actually a pretty good idea Jarusa. I suspect it could evolve into a forum where people living in various cities overseas can get in touch and go watch live games (especially around finals time).

Alternatively, I am happy to respond with the latest details on how to watch delayed games over the internet each time someone posts a thread like this. Though I am a new member, I've followed the TC site for years and noticed that people quite regularly ask how they can watch the games when overseas.
