Players that negotiate their contracts through the media deserve no respect. How is Matty Allan and Aaron Hamill remembered in the history of our club?

How has Fev negotiated his contract thru the media? He has wanted nothing more thru out this than to keep his managements dealings private & confidential & out of the clutches of the media. The MEDIA are the ones poking in around it, as they will ALWAYS do. They are the ones coming up with all this crap.

Allan & Hamill BOTH sold out on Carlton. HOW has Fev done that? He hasn't. Not unless you believe ALL the crap that has been said. Heresay BS. That's all it is.

People on TC, supposedly in the know, have already stated it's all crap & that he will be signing soon. I don't know if they are in the know but I am willing to put my faith in them. Others want to put faith in the MEDIA & even worse than that, a scaly little reptile like Hutchie.

IMHO there are going to be alot of people on TC with egg on their face this time next week.

I find it funny when people say a 27 year old has potential. If you haven't realised your potential by 27 then there is a very very very big chance it will never be realised.

Wake up people

Also Fev can't enter the National Draft unless we delist him. Contracts expire the 31st October, but uncontracted players can only nominate for the PSD. Last years dates below, can't find this years cause the AFL website is a piece or work.

didn't they change that this year so as to allow players to move between clubs more freely? Those not signed by the time of the draft can nominate for the draft if they choose?
Who cares, trade week is before the national draft. And if he was in the national draft he'd still be gone by the time Sydney got to him :?

well i am not saying that Fev would hold the club to ransom by not agreeing to a trade, but we do care about the change in rules because we can say we want two top ten picks all we like, but if the new rules dicatate that we may not be able to hold onto out of contract players (ie Fev) til the PSD, they can walk into the national draft and a club only has to give up one pick for him by being the first to pull the trigger and we'd get nothing in return. If he is also able to put a price on his head in the national draft then he may indeed last til Sydney's first pick.

Yes, but regardless, he's still a potential 100 goal kicker. It's not about realising talent, because he has. It's about fulfilling a statistic.

It doesn't matter how old he is, he's still a potential 100 goal kicker, like Judd is still a potential dual Brownlow medallist.

That said, I don't actually think he will kick 100 goals. I don't think that will happen for a while, actually.

Just goes to show it is a stupid word. You can say just about anything to attempt to strengthen your arguement. I would rather judge a person on their past performance. Fev has won some games off his own boot but so did Brad Pearce. Fev has the maturity of a high school kid which is why a lot of people on this website stick up for him because maybe they relate to him very well.

Fev has the potential to win our goalkicking 10 years straight... but he has won it 6 years straight....

No doubt you are happy with his past performance. For somebody in the know I thought you would know a fair bit more about Fev's past performance.

Sure i do....

Anyway its about winning games of football and flags right???

Fev can POTENTIALLY take you there... i use the word potentially cos nothing in life is guaranteed... nothing... yes???

Anyway.... was it you that spoke about StKilda trading Lockett??... wekll you do know Lockett left StKilda .. it wasnt StKildas choice to trade him.. and no they didnt win a flag after they traded him...

Hall was abit wayward at StKilda too...they traded him...again he WANTED to leave....so he did..... he won a flag .. they didnt....

Now they have lost G Train and dont have a forward line and are impotent..

Please dont bring StKilda up as to how to do things....

Lockett didn't win a flag either, the Aints should have won a flag in 97. They didn't because they're a shit club.

What's your point :?

2 years on they played off in a Grand Final and on paper were the best team going around in that year..

He added an IMMENSE amount of value, if you don't remember what a valuable commodity Tony Lockett was, Just like Wayne Carey for the Roos, and Chris Judd for the eagles  then you must have a short memory!..

Chris Judd, Brendan Fevola.. these guys are match winners! Anyone who saw Fev's beautiful display against the Pies a few weeks ago knows just how important he is to the side going forward..

Just as important, is our need for an extra Tall forward, with using Fisher more against Richmond, we were a lot more efficient in our set-ups..

But another key forward target is a key for us going to that Next level!.. So in a couple years time we can compete in the top 4 with teams like The Bulldogs, Hawks and Geelong, who can all kick goals and have many targets in which to use..

Were improving bit by bit in that regard but we will need to keep that up.. In continually developing our structure as a team, Fevola will be the icing on the cake as our team begins to go places..

Synbad responded about all that stuff to my post. I didn't mention Lockett or St.Kilda at all. I am a little puzzled by it. Are we talking about Fev's contract or St.Kilda being shite?

Talking about the Aints being shite is easy because its true, so lets talk about Fev's contract then

Fev is asked whether he's spoken to Sydney on TFS and says "No", Roos is asked if Fev has been spoken to and says "No", then Fev gets asked by every journo in the country if he's been offered a contract by Sydney and says "I'm not going to talk about my contract" and yet he's somehow a flower who's negotiating through the media.....

'Supporter' isn't a very apt description.

Traditionally on TC, this sort of a statement will bring on a heap of barrage, personal abuse etc. "Boring!"

What i'd be interested in seeing is if anyone can explain why I might be thinking this? I'm kinda curious myself after my second big glass of a surprisingly decent Yalumba Shiraz Voigner!

Personally, if I was negotiating his contract, i'd pretty much give him what he wants!

Rich

The problem with giving him what he wants is the 6 or 7 players who hopefully take us up the ladder, who are also going to need a decent pay packet not tooooooo far down the road.

The club has make sure we can keep all our 'A' graders under the Cap not just 1 or 2.

Regards Cazzesman

he goes into the veterans cap section of the salary cap in his 3rd year of a new contract anyway
so the money aint a issue for other players
