KK getting angry would just be a bonus if this deal went through.

No doubt the payoff for playing games up there will be less away travelling? So, once again, no Sydney matches, most likely.

Plus, why on earth would we want to give up HOME matches? We're at a development point in our cycle that we need to play teams on our terms whenever and wherever possible, and going to the GC isn't that.

Totally stupid idea.

Hey KK as I previously posted, this might be a ploy by the club to get into a better bargaining position with the Dome.

Could be, but given past actions, I wonder.....

Under which administration?

All of them.

I'm sure everyone knows my views on the shunning of the largest market in the country in favour of smaller ones, so I won't repeat that here, but it's a perennial thing.

Yeah...but we'll be on the telly

Says who?

How many games in Sydney do you want the team to play in given that there is only one team there ATM?

One every year, whether that's the preseason praccy at North Sydney Oval, a preseason comp match, or a Home-and-Away match. In an ideal year, it would be 2 of the 3 options in a season, but just one would be good. Most years we get 3 fifths of 5 eighths of SFA.

One of those 3 options isn't that much to ask. To give the largest group of supporters outside Victoria more reason to go to the matches, to sign up as members etc.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't studied the fixture over the last few years, but I always assumed we played the Swans twice each season.

When was the last time we played Sydney in Sydney KK?

2006.

Then before that 2005, and before that 2001, IIRC

Try 2007, 2006, 2003, 2002.

Facts, schmacts.

Agree with you however, obviously.

I must have wiped the 2007 match from my memory (even though that was the first match I went to with MrsKK)

It is the biggest market.

Why are people in the Club leaving such a massive market to The Filth and Scum to plunder with no competition?

We need a proper social club area.

The pies have a great setup at the G in the Ponsford stand and all pies supporters sit all around that area and together make heaps of noise.

Come to think of it we've been stitched up with both deals. The social club seats down the punt road end is just a joke. We get the first 20 rows then the rest sold to the general public and the same goes with the dome.

I personally think the Dome is a great Venue............... i really do.

And since they've fixed up the surface somewhat it's become even better.

Trust me, once Ian Collins carks-it, the place will be brilliant. (Harsh, but true).

I remember going to a Victory game................i took a mate, who had never been before.
I was a member but i was buying him a ticket, we got there about 40min before kick-off.

Anyway, Telstra Dome thought it would be a good idea to devote an entire gate for the away fans ONLY................ THE ENTIRE GATE 8, INCLUDING THE SEATING INSIDE, WAS CLOSED OFF FOR AWAY FANS ONLY! The away team..................Auckland................

So, 35,000 fans were forced to line up at the other gates creating total mayhem and we didn't get in till 15min after kick-off..............that's right kiddies, i was in-line for about 50min.

So...............when i got in and i looked to the designated 'away-fans' area...........there was a total of 28...........yes................28 Auckland Fans with the whole of Gate 8 seating to themselves.

So because of 28 fans, i was forced to miss 15min of the game and line-up for over 50min.

Ian @#$%&! Collins.................seriously, what a knob head!

I HATE the idea of selling off our home games. Don't care whether we are talking about Gold Coast, Sydney or the bloody moon! I seem to recall the outcry on here when there was talk of selling home games under Smorgan, everybody was flithy. Why now the sudden change?

We are Carlton. We are a Melbourne club. We play our home games in Melbourne. End of story.

If we can't find other ways of making money, then the administration is not doing its job.

If we have a shit deal at the Dome (which clearly we do), then we have to live with that, or change it, but NOT by selling off our home games. Talk about diluting the fabric of over 100 years of history of this proud and might Club...FFS!

DUC, I pray you are right, that this is a ruse, leaked to the media, to renegotiate a better deal with the Dome, or a better split between Dome and MCG. If it is, then I applaud Swann.

If it is a genuine bid to sell off home games, then I am sorry, but this is a sad day for the Carlton Football Club.

..As for the Gold Coast - brilliant! July or August please Swanny...
