just a response to those that say that a trade cant be done - I imagine Fev will remain with the blues next year though.

As many have said, its a slow news week (footy wise) - we need something to discuss :)

Swans forward structure does not suit Fev. Why the heck he would go there when the Swans don't always kick it to their big key forward? Swans may have Hall but they don't always go through him. Nor do they always go through O'Loughlin. Their rotating forward structure is one of their strengths.

Can't see Fev going there. He'd like their delivery though, it's usually very crisp.

roos would be smart enough to make it work

Hall at CHF, Fev at FF+mickyO/davis/ROK crumbing would make them extremely potent and an instant flag threat - Fev would actually fit better in a team that kicks it to multiple targets rather than just the 1 or 2. It would mean the defence is more spread, more 1 on 1 contests rather than continual 2 or 3 on 1

Give me Keiran Jack, Jesse White and their first round draft pick and they can have him.

We should be offering Brendan a deal for four years for about $750k per year.

Injury permitting (and he's proven resilient thus far) his best years are ahead of him. Playing his role deep in the forward line, coupled with his enormous talent he should be able to sustain, at minumum, a similar performance level as now for at least 4 years. He doesn't need to worry about fitness as much as a midfielder, playing FF.

I understand Carlton wanting to do what's in their best interests, but I would have thought securing their most important and naturally gifted player so he's around when we are challenging seriously, would be firmly placed within those interests.

And at last the tiny village slept & there was calm. Is this the eye of the storm or has it passed completely? Will the storm rear again in the morning? All this within a teacup!

I am glad you don't negotiate contracts for CFC.

$750k a year.... You got to be kidding mate.

I'd be offering around $500,000 a year + $100,000 a year for marketing and that is it. $600k a year for the next 3 years

Problem is when Greg Swan comes out and says "we got plenty of room to fit Kerr under our cap" managers of Fev's, Waitey's and Murph's be licking there lips and now obviously holding out cause they know the money will come.

True, not a smart move by Swanny - Fev will do the right thing though, and not for 750K - ROFL.

If Fevola leaves Carlton now then he'll prove he's the goose everyone's made him out to be.

I think hes gone, he would have denied it otherwise, ungrateful, greedy pig is what he is. The club has stood by him all these years and this is how he repays them, most big name players get huge offers thrown at them but knock them back, except Hamill.

If he goes he goes,i probably think we won't win a flag with him because he will probably get the shits on the field or off it again. I would bet we have a better chance with Jonathan Brown getting us one if it's a 3 way deal.

I kind of laugh how people jumped over Brad Fisher signing for 2 years, there was no drama there, like Fisher and his management gave a price probably lower then he would get elsewhere.

I hope if Fev stay he doesn't take just about what's rest and it makes it tough to sign guys like Murphy,Simpson,Gibbs and the younger guys coming up like Bower,Austin,Steven Browne when they start playing nearly every game.

How unsettling for the team, Swans wont have any draft picks to get him. Why is Fev doing this? Why hasnt Murphy and Waite been signed up yet?
Probably waiting on the Fevola deal because these 2 guys salaries would have jumped a lot more. The club probably have to see if they can keep all of them and not get stuffed in years that's why it would be easier doing Fisher,Betts and Jamieson. Those 3 guys are descent players who wouldn't ask a lot more in the new contract, not saying Murphy and Waite or Fev aren't,but all 3 would have a big increase, but fev could break the bank.

Has anyone had a read of Inside Football this week?

Crackers Keenan absolutely rips into Huchinson about getting facts right when he writes his stories.

Hutchinson incorrectly wrote that Keenan has been sacked form every club he has been associated with. Keenan also gave him a bake about missing out on some recent " Big Stories", pretty much implying that Hutchinson is yesterday's news.

Seems that Keenan has some high contacts at CH 9 and none would be sad to see him go. 3AW sacked Hutchy and hopefully CH9 do too. Hutchinson is a disgrace, can't stand the bloke anymore and wouldn't listen to a work that idiot says.

And on Fev, he'll sign and stay, so relax all.

Unless Michael Clark calls off the engagement, Fev won't be going to Sydney

Interesting article in yesterdays courier about J Brown. Brisbane said they are keen to sign him, however, understand that managers for all players will go to other clubs to see what they have to offer. Nothing different here...
