Totally do-able.

We get Judd & Walker back for the saints game and we SHOULD beat them.

North have fallen off the rails and i think they're impressive year last year was as a result of them running on pure adrenaline, which only gets you so far before you become exhausted.

Saints are up and down and to be honest, North Lost that game the other night...... Saints should have been beaten. Plus, they really don;t look like they're adapting to Ross Lyons style too well. They're past 4 or so games have been less than impressive and quite ugly & confusing to watch.

I'd be more worried about Essendon*.........

BRISBANE LIONS -RICHMOND -COLLINGWOOD -MELBOURNE
WEST COAST -ADELAIDE -WESTERN BULLDOGS -ST KILDA

EASY run home. Only one more Away game. I can see them winning at least 3 or 4 games out of those and if they can muster an upset or two that would put them around-about's where we are looking to finish.

Us?> Well this is (i think) a fairly reasonable prediction.....

ST KILDA - Win
SYDNEY SWANS - Win
WESTERN BULLDOGS - Loss
ADELAIDE - loss
PORT ADELAIDE - Win
NORTH MELBOURNE - Win
BRISBANE LIONS - Loss
HAWTHORN - Win

If those predictions manage to come true......... that would put us on 11 wins for the season.............which in all honest is about 5 or 6 wins BETTER than what most people thought we'd be and, not to mention, 5 or 6 games BETTER than Pagan would have delivered.

I'd be happy with that.

If we were to get into the finals, brilliant, I couldn;t care if we got knocked out in the first week, it would do wonders for the kids.

If we were to finish around 8-10, i think that would be a fair judgement of where we are at the moment.

What i would like to see is:-
- Murphy win the B&F
- Judd string together 3 or 4 games equal or better of the pre 2007 Judd.
- Fevola kick 100 goals and JUST pip Franklin to the Coleman.
- Us to at least beat the Saints / North and Sydney for some much needed pay-back.
- Carlton to demolish Port and give as much shit as humanaly possible to Chad Cornes.
- Setanta to play 50 games.
- Aisakie to be at least given a couple of games??????
I'd be pretty happy with all that.

I'm as optimistic as the next person, but I can't believe people are seriously expecting us to beat Sydney.

Hope I'm wrong though!

I still can't believe that Norf play Port twice in the run home.

Sydney are a bloody good team, hope people can put us down for a win so quickly is beyond me.
We are not without a chance but its no certainty

The only games in our run home we should EXPECT to win are

StKilda
North
Port

10 wins for the season would be well and truly more than anyone expected.
Having said that im very happy for the Blues to prove me wrong!

Sydney have just been motoring quietly along nicely, no fan fare, no brass bands, but winning games of football. Would not at all be surprised to see them on the last Saturday in September. That game is a long shot for us.

Essendon* game cost us big time in terms of finals aspirations, so we will have to win at least one game where we would not be expected - Sydney, Brisbane, Hawthorn.

I would live to see them beat Adelaide.

Not that I think we will beat Adelaide...

But out of all of those teams...my pick for an upset would be to beat Adelaide at AAMI.

I was there when Fev kicked the unkickable a few years ago...

It still makes me feel all warm and squishy inside!

I agree - I wouldn't be upset if we don't make it - I just think that the next eight weeks is a great opportunity to set some goals and take it up to all comers. If we are successful it would have been on the back of hard graft rather than 'easy' games.

Boys, I have missed saying this. But really, if you look at it, we can't lose. Therefore, making this a WIN/WIN situation.

If we make the 8, everyone would marvel at us and not care how we go in the finals because we had a REALLY tough draw and considering how sh*t we were in the previous few years, YET we still made the finals.

If we don't make the 8, we have already gained the respect of the footballing community by getting to where we are, and no one expected us to make the finals anyway. In fact, most ppl had us for about 5 wins for the season and finish down the bottom.

This season for me, is a good one regardless of how we end up. 7 wins from 14 matches this year is already a pretty good return.

We have come a long way this year - and someone mentioned the respect word.

Just being no longer pencilled in for a win because you are playing Carlton is a win.

Having said that - there are 2 games I would like to win this year.

St. Kilda and Sydney.

And everyone around me will know about it when we do.

We shouldn't have won against Port nor Collingwood (the second time). Squared the ledger there...

Yes and no.

For mine, if we fall away now (or in 2 or 3 matches time), then we will undo the hard work we've done through the middle of the season, and we won't get the respect we otherwise might, because people will only remember the last few matches of the season through summer and into season 09.

But, it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that we've come a million miles from where we've been over the last few years.

There are 4 more wins I want this year: Against St Kilda, Sydney, Port and North.
