OR was one and a half hours earlier.

Yeah, not fussed who was first, happy to have a hint that the good news is confirmed. EB has some very good sources, they have either got the info from different sources or the same CFC blabbermouth.

Great news! Anyone we haven't signed yet? If they haven't they might have missed the boat.

Great news, Thanks champ

Buz

I couldn't help myself, it had to come out, I couldn't hold it all in any longer

Also, I'm used to being forgotten in the blink of an eye - so it will be business as usual. I also thought about going out in a blaze of glory.

Don't worry Ockham, if you're the shy retiring type, I'm sure some forum-trawling tabloid hack will be more than happy to take all the credit for your scoops.

I'm sure we'll check back in a few months and see how many came through.

New sponsorships in paticular are always good to hear about....second only to news on young guns signing up.

Great stuff if it unfolds accordingly. I often wonder where this stuff comes from.
By the way, it's 'cojones'

Thought I’d give an update regarding some issues that I've heard about recently from around the club.

Current membership 40,665, hoping for a late rush. Sold quite a few early last week with the talk of finals.

Redevelopment of ground to commence end of July with demolition of stands. The building is at the tender stage at present. Cost approx $15m with govt’s contributing a bit over $10m

New sponsorship deal to be announced in about a month. Communications company will reduce current level of sponsorship and new sponsor will take its place on jumpers etc + more $. Biggest sponsorship in the AFL, even surpassing the recent Hyundai deal. This deal does not involve an airline, but the club is aware of the airline’s interest but it won’t commit until it gets Melb landing rights. Unlikely that the new announcement will be made on a Friday

Fev contract expected to be completed and announced next week.

Murphy contract close to finalised. Waite contract agreed to just to be signed and announced.

Jamo signed for 3 as has Hampson.

The club is delighted with the progress of the young guys, very happy to continue along the youth and development path irrespective of wins this year.

Currently speaking with AFL & MCC to renegotiate home game split. Looking to secure a 7 – 4 split between MCG & Dome. Avg attendance at games this year is 63k.

OR, there are dangers in spilling the beans within 1 hour of having them imparted. I for one know where that came from.

May I add:

average attendance 63 k for the year.

every 1000 members represents about $100,000 for the club.

otherwise, apart from the fact that we might not have so much candour next time (and as a result less to post), that about sums it up.

What's our average attendance if we don't count the games againt Essendon*, Collingwood and Richmond (which would be played at the G anyway)?.... Looking at our 2008 draw, the games against Bulldogs, Kangaroos and Hawthorn are the ones we would like to be moved to the MCG aren't they?

Eagerly anticipating the sponsorship announcement... I hope its a second Visy logo. Something that sends a message to the ACCC

Someone rang into SEN this morning saying we've landed a "big fish" over the last few days.

Any ideas?
