The thing is this...
Fev kicks goals (Good thing)
Fev and the forward line can kick more goals (very good thing)
For that to happen the forward line needs structure (workand imagination)
Midfield is potetially great cos we have the best midfielder (Very good thing)
That midfield can improve if everybody knows what theyre doing(work)
We kicked 100 points against a shit Essendon* (ok thing could win you the game)
But we conceded 140 odd points against a shit Essendon* (not good)
If we control the footy Fev and a rejigged forward line can apply goal scoring pressure kick us a winning score (very very good thing)
It also means that if your midfield is working fluently and everyone knows what theyre doing... you wont cop 140 points (fantastic thing)
Which means the defenders look better instead of being under the pump against a shit Essendon* and they keep Essendons score down (very very good)
But because Judd went down early... (bad thing).. and the others had no clue how to engineer control of the ball .. including A grader Stevens... John Nicholls medalist Carrazzo.. runner up Scotland.. and a couple of younger kids.... we lost to a shit team (very very bad thing)
So what you do is this... drill a side so everybody understands their role through the game and the midfield...and option a ) Fev.... option b)a host of others.....
The opposition gets less of the ball to score 140 points (the scoreboard flattered us really).... and we kick winning scores more often.....!!!
Thats the game.. simple...!!!
Its not like we played a well drilled outfit (Geelong or Hawthorn or the Dogs)
It was Rheimers and Watson and Neagle ....(Thats bad)
I said it to the whistler... the whister knows what i think..as do others i know..... many.. many others....
Agreed Synbad. Now once again though, why don't you mention any of this after a win?
You want me to get stuck into thngs all the time?????
Look... i know were taking "baby steps "... Paganism....
But you would think we can have some things drilled into us during the week....and that shepherding and blocking and staying on your feet are basic things of footy... right????
Sometimes i do have faith in the coaching staff.. because were talking about some of the most basic things in footy.. but then the reality of Sunday kicks in....
There was no excuse to not beat Essendon*!!!!
None...!!!
It had nothing to do with us being a young side and everything to do with CONDITIONING....
Someone needs space you block....
Another thing that gets me is all the zoning we do...
Were ot that good to zone yet!!!!
