CONS:
The ruck and midfield- we could not seem to get it out of the centre very well today and Hille KILLED us in the ruck and around the ground.

The forward line - we need to find a centre half forward....

Decision making

I HATE LOSING TO THEM - AND TWICE THIS YEAR

PROS:
Fev played well again - stood up in forward line
Will learn from this ...
and....well..........um.....

Pros: Fev working fairly hard all day. After contesting the mark he followed up with tackles
Stevens lifting his workrate as the game progressed.
Betts, Fisher and Wiggins presenting relatively consistently all game when we had the ball.
Lifting after being smashed in the first qtr

Cons:
Starting so poorly. It looked like a training drill with Essendon* continually getting clearances. No intensity, no pressure. You can't expect the defence to cope with the ball coming in like that on a one on one lead, but there were also some bad clangers from Carrazzo and Waite who coughed the ball up and gifted Essendon* goals.
Kickout strategy wasn't working very well.
Often in a marking contest a small/medium defender would leave their man to be the third man up, however when the ball hit the deck it was the third man up's opponent who was waiting to gather the crumb and kick the goal

PRO:
*I actually cannot think of one. Maybe the short-lived comeback?

CONS:
*In just about every contest today we played from behind. We never really had front position. There was way too many times when they where 5metres infront of our players. We didn't man-up at all (that leroy jetta goal a perfect example).
*We got absolutely smashed in the centre! It was supposed to be our main strength in the lead up to the match.
*Tackling and lack of intensity is back in the cons. we looked fatigued and tired in the first 2 quarters! We lacked the speed and aggression that helped us get over the line in the past 2 matches.
*Russell, was he injured or sth, coz he only got 1 kick for the match. Jamison didn't have a great game, but i have confidence he can bounce back. Once again grigg went un-noticed. bentick, armfield, setanta etc didn't see much of the footy
*Some of the disposal from guys like carrazzo and stevens even marc was @#$%&! terrible.
*I'm gonna have to put up with shit from Essendon* "supporters" for the whole @#$%&! week.
*@#$%&!

Pros:

- Good traffic leaving the ground.
- I don't have to cook dinner.
- The sky isn't falling, well little bits are.
- The soccer is on tonight

Cons:

- Carlos two attempts coming across packs in defence that resulted in Essendon* goals and a 12 point lead in the last quarter. Why didn't anyone talk to him after the first incident, he didn't need to go up either time.

- Carrazzo gifting Essendon* many a posession with 5 clangers from 6 possies in the first quarter, then following it up with another perfect pass to Hille later on.

- Murphy and Stevens kicking today.

- Fisher's inability to do anything outside of 15m from goal. Should of been sent to the reserves weeks ago.

- Ball handling was shocking

- Decision making shocking

Con- How quickly things can turn to shit- this time last week on top of the world - now we have no Prez every team that we wanted to lose won , Fev face in the media for all the wrong reasons- and a loss to Essendon*

Pros- Ackland kicked 8 in the ressies and Hartlett 3 - surely one will be picked next week and fix the [REDACTED] up one man forward situation

CONS:

Don't rate this mob at all - and they have done us twice now.

Watching that tosser in orange boots doing his boof-head celebrations.

Lovett kicking cheap goals against us - again.

Ackland kicking 8 in the ressies; Saddo named among the best.

:(

Cons:-

STEVENS
Sorry. I know he'll probably be listed as one of our best, but he is a lazy half-assed footballer and i'm sick of it.
I'd drop him for next week. Bring back Walker, put Gibbs into the centre to replace Stevens.
He kicks a vital goal in the last quarter and then has the nerve to expect his teammates to lift for him?????? You can't go the whole game at 50%, kick a goal and then expect your teammates to consider you a leader! You need to throw 110% into 4 quarters of football to be a true leader..... and Stevens is just not that.

CARRAZZO.
Another who will be listed in our best. But from my count, he would have cost us at least 3-4 goals. Poor turnovers from lazy lazy dissposals.......and he never really looks that concerned when he does it. Pissweak. Another i would consider dropping.

FISHER.
Great mark. But TWICE he failed to make the distance from 45mtrs out. Plus, i lost track of how many times he ran into Fevola's lead. For christ sake, get out of the @#$%&! way!

NO INTENSITY IN THE FIRST HALF.
None. Nobody even looked liked they gave a shit. From the first Goal, Essendon* looked like they came to beat us and we looked like we were making up the numbers. Are we tired? Blockbuster-itis? What is it?

UMPIRES.
Jesus Christ. These two are considered the best in the business.......... we are in serious trouble if they don't show some @#$%&! commonsense and improvment soon.

JUNK TIME
Why did we let so many goals go through? again, Half-Assed lazy footballers with no intensity.

PRO:-

GIBBS.
Thought he was one of the few that can hold his head high. True Leadership was on display today. Good game.

FEVOLA.
Jesus. With Fisher cutting off his lead, shocking delieveries, poor umpiring etc etc etc...... this guy still has the skill to kick 7. Give him $2.5mill over 3 years. God knows he deserves it.

MURPHY.
B&F WINNER RIGHT HERE PEOPLE. Sign him up ASAP.

WIGGENS.
Good game, if unspectacular.

If i was coach, i'd be quite blunt for next week. Stevens has shown some lazy piss-weak football these past few weeks. I'd start him on the bench against Richmond and if he doesn't lift....... i'd be dropping him.

Saddo had 7 kicked on him by Tomahawk. Not sure how he got a best mention.

We got such a long way to go, we looked slow today, we had no dangerous forwards, no goal sneaks and our players just don't run hard enough.

Yeah and we're going to make the finals!!!

Pros.
Players will learn that you cannot keep coming from behind and win. Must play 4 qrts of footy to be a good team.

Cons
We let those scums kick something like 286 points against us in 2 games this year...woeful.

If you watched the Bombers closely they worked so hard for each other with blocks, hard running, creative football compared to us.

The amount of times they would put a block on for a leading player was great.

They have a great forward line. Neagle going to be better than anything we got and just imagine when Gumby gets it right. Throw Davey and Jetta round those blokes

Unfortunately for us we have nothing coming up that looks promising. And we will struggle with a one dimensional forward line and no half forwards who are creative and create something out of nothing.

Again we will only be found out. Fev goes down with an injury and we are flowered.

But again nothing is being done about this and we continue to play Simon Wiggin and Brad Fisher who add nothing.

If Ratts wants to continue playing Bentick, Wiggo, Fusher, Banno and Houlahan then we are going backwards.

This is our year to play every kid on the list, big, small, medium i dont care get games into them and not Wiggins, Banno and Bentick as they will not be around when we win our 17th.

Cons
Asleep at the wheel early
Woeful decision making and execution early
The exact frees paid early to the Bombers were missed time and again to us.

Pros
Kruesers 2nd half
You pay money to watch the Fev
Didn't give in
Simmo
14.9 to 13.11 after 1/4 time

Absolute rubbish to say that Stevens was poor today!!!

He was clearly our best midfielder and was damaging almost every time he got the ball. He was credited with 11 contested possessions and was working very hard. Plus his two goals were pure class. Ryan, your criticism of Stevens today shows that you clearly have a one eyed hatred of him with not an ounce of objectivity. As if we would drop our most effective midfielder.

Murphy on the other hand had a shocker today. 44% effectiveness. He was bereft of confidence with his kicking which is why he butchered that chance in the 2nd quarter when he handballed to Fev. I love Murph but there is no way he was a pro today.

Exactly. The wins over port and the pies were great for morale, but we cannot keep giving sides 5 goal starts. The lads have to be switched on from the start.

However, as other posters have said, we are a young side and it will probably take another year or two at least to get that consistency in the collective performance.

I liked Fev's ripper from the boundary, but on the replay you can also see Cloke alone, 30m directly in front. The pass should have been on, especially after Fev gave Juddy a rocket for trying for a miracle goal instead of handballing last week.

Some terrible skill errors and decision making in the back half, especially in the first half.

We got absolutely smashed in the centre clearances, which is strange as we have rarely won the ruck, but generally performed ok or even won clearances this year, and I don't rate the Dons midfield as anything special.

Simmo some good run after being quiet early.

Juddy relatively quiet, but presumeably has a headache tonight after locking horns with Matty 'Greg Louganis' Lloyd.

Chamberlain very hard to contain. Knights used him very well - too good in the air for Grigg and too fast for Jamo.

Well that sucked back from Game

Biggest Con - MIdfiled and Centre Ball Clearance we got smashed end of story

If you win 80% of the centre clearance you are going to make you forwars look good.

People picking on Stevo unfortunately Murph had a poor game did some good things will star but some of his decisions inside 50 ... why he didnt kick that goal from 10 metres out on the run... Judd poor game but he got polaxed late in the first so i accept that prob shouldnt have played much after the 1st quarter.
Bentick under utlised when we where being soundly beaten in the Centre clearances should have played Bentick there for much more game time

Watching game we where okay around the ground and from the backline but from the centre clearances Hille dominated and unlike most of our other games was effective in giving the bombers first use of the ball.
Carrots got beaten soundly in the back pocket

Pro
Simmo had a good game when he got shifted in the backline after Carrats got soundly beaten
