It was a dog act inflicted on one of Carlton's favourite sons and one of the fairest players to ever pull on a boot. Carlton supporters have no reason to get over it.

Interesting thread over on Big Footy about teammates who didn't like each other. Interesting reports on Justin Murphy.

That was as dark a day at the football as I have ever experienced. (worse than when Jezza got poleaxed in my view). The mood all over the ground was explosive. I remain staggered that he got out that day - bloody hell i wanted to kill him!!! (rumour has it he dressed in drag to get out).

It still makes my blood boil. I for one cannot stand him and will continue to boo him for the rest of his playing days.

Soft, weak cowardly act by a prick.

i saw that vid the other day...

i remember the incident pretty clearly. as well as kouta and mark porter getting smashed. the boo-ing around the ground was like nothing i've ever heard  . filthy geelong tactics. had absolutely no intenitions for contesting. he just lined him up and smashed him. should've got 7 weeks IM(biased)O. great to see the carlton supporters giving that filthy kent a bit of deserved abuse (0:58-1:08)

anyway, we smashed them in that game. still HATE milburn to this very day

He got belted last week. He left the field with blood streaming from his head.

I couldn't help myself, I smiled

You would have to think that Sheedy got into Bombers ear about roughing up some of our boys in the lead up to the Finals.

My brother is the sports journo for a local Kilmore paper and last year he did a story on Milburn and he said he still cops shit from Blues supporters just in the streets etc

Disappointed Ratts didn't try send out some payback in his first game coaching against them :P

Look did a prick of an act and he got what was handed to him

Yeah acted like a prick as he left the field

But he has been a very good player for geelong so it hasnt effected his footy

I remember Rhys Jones not being the cleanest player but we loved it

Whats the difference

And if you ask me Menschs effort on kouta isnt far off being just as bad

Kouta got up thats the difference

Who gives a shit

Its been 7 years

Move on

I went looking for the thread earlier today but couldn't locate it. It's a thread full of a lot of rumour and BS, but all up an interesting read.

Here 'tis

There is no reason Carlton supporters should get over the Milburn incident. No reason at all. It was a dog act by a dog inflicted on one of our players.

Sure milburn has

No.

And don't you mean "Milburn sure has".

Can anyone remember a Carlton player from the modern era (say 95 onward) doing a dog act like that on the opposition?!

Instead we have see you next tuesdays like Milburn, Didak and co. griefing our players.

All I can for the past 5 years is thank god for Fev, up until this year he was the only Blue to really fly the flag for the players when they got collected...

Agree...Milburn could be a dual premiership player by seasons end and wouldnt be too fussed about what he did in the past etc.
He is a good footballer and if you want to win flags you need the odd Milburn or Rhys Jones in the team.
Watched some highlights of Mark Riccuito on the Telly and he cleaned up several players in a Milburn like fashion but cos the Roo is seen as a good bloke he doenst cop the dirty mongrel tag.......
Goodes is a bigger dog than Milburn IMO but like Riccuito did leads a charmed life...

Precisely. If it weren't for the clapping Milburn would only be of Wallis status.

Goodes is a saint the way he acts compared to Milburn's effort that day.

Milburn's ugly high hit was just that, an ugly high hit. Plenty of players have been guilty of the same thing over the years.

Milburn is the only player I can remember who has actively goaded the crowd by smirking and clapping as he left the field following such an ugly high hit. That is why he's a ****.

The bad taste of Milburn clapping the crowd was made even worse because behind him a favourite son of our club was convulsing on the ground.
