3 years sounds great - and puts him out of reach of the expansion teams... should be doing the same will all long term prospects, organising contracts that won't have them uncontracted in the years when GC/West Syd join the AFL...

Make that 15 years. He really is wonderful.

The tackle he evaded from Bryan was wonderful to see and he just oozes CLASS!

Quote from Elliot. Perhaps he should be doing the same.

It would appear that an announcement about Fevs contract may not be that far away....

Not even the bar staff at the CSC would dare to jump shop from the Blues right now - right at the start of a Navy Blue frickin' renaissance@

Appears Fev and his management won't accept a specific behavioural clause in any new contract. Apparently his management feel the conditions outlined in the "standard player contract" are adequate...

Money is the issue. I hope we don't sell the house and then can't afford to re-sign Murphy and a few other youngsters who will help us win our next premiership.

We could get a McKinley and Kerr for Fev at the moment.

Money Bags Fev. Hope he isn't trying to screw us.

The whispers are that his salary has not been agreed. They are telling the media it is the behavioural clauses that has stopped the deal from going through.

We need to leave room in the cap for the youngsters otherwise we won't be able to re-sign them when out of contract.

It's not that hard really. When you've got Swanny and Icke working 6 days a week on the figures and there's 42 players and $X amount to pay, it wouldn't take long to nut out who's worth what.

There isn't a chance in hell we'd let our next captain go.

We'll either have another top 10 draft pick this year, or, according to Swanny, we'll use it to land another big fish. That means we've got heaps of room.

We've got money that will be freed up Ackland, Saddo and one or two others.

Apparently Fev needs an incentive to behave....

http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,23893605-23211,00.html

I find this ridiculous. He will get paid to behave????

Depends on how you look at it BRMW.

I see it as being Fev paid NOT to misbehave. 8)

Yeah I get you DUC

However I find it a little hard to stomach that a person cannot "behave" as a matter of course in general.

I'm sure I would be an angel if someone was throwing that sort of money at me, but its not the point.....

Couldn't agree more, but I'm hoping that the $100K isn't addiitonal to his contract but rather a lesser amount. i.e. contract for $750K a year if he wasn't prone to being a dill as opposed to a $700K contract with $100K clause thrown in to behave.

Essentially becomes a $50K incentive to hold his wees in public.

Make sense?

Not entirely happy with Fev's attitude/responses regarding his contract negotiations on the footy show last night.
In particular, thought his final remark about "I'll sign when I'm happy with the money offered" , or words to than affect, was a bit poor.

"When the deal's good enough" is what he said.
Did he mean years, dollars or conditions? Was he just answering the question glibly without giving it any thought?

Sometimes people read too much into what players say, especially when it's said on the Footy Show, where they're all trying to be comedians.

Yeah makes sense, but I still don't like it..... His new contract will be in the vicinity of 500K plus per year base (witout any behaviour bonus etc )and one would think that should more than adequately provide incentive to behave. If they have to offer bonuses in his contract I would think it better if they were for perfomance based things such as goals kicked or something. To me that would benefit the club and also Fev more because it would help Fev concentrate on his football more.

Could just say ... negotiations are ongoing and not give the circus more ammo.
