Hawthorn is the big roughie for me. We have been spanked by them in recent history and I don't think we will again this year. Apart from Franklin, I have never seen any of their other players to be that much better than us on paper.

beating the crows at aami is a massive ask and obviously hawthorn seems light years away from us atm. but i'm surprised you didn't pick us to win against north, i would have thought we'd be favourites against them, especially with mcintosh out it gets rid of the only advantage they have over us which is the rucks.

Well, if we do make finals, we'll almost certainly be away to Brisbane, Adelaide, Collingwood or North.

Brisbane and Adelaide...blah. North we'd be a big show. Collingwood, well, wouldn't the AFL like that. And to be honest (and maybe this is the pessimist coming out), after all the shite we've given Collingwood this week...well, it could be a nightmare.

The win against the Crows (with a pretty average team) at AAMI in 2004 when Fev kicked that impossible goal has given me the confidence that it's not an impossibility to beat them there. With our renewed confidence in 2008 playing teams away, I would back our boys to get a win.

Hawthorn are playing better than us at the moment. But I picked us to win as it's the last game of the season and I think by that time if we're still in the 8, we will be playing a style that should be able to match it with the big boys in preparation for the finals.

Picked us to lose against North simply because we seem to struggle against them. North are bloody unpredictable and on their day, they are tough to beat. Anyway, it's just a predictor and that's what I'm predicting.

Let's hope I'm right!
