Seriously, enough is enough.

Firstly I should apologise as blockbuster status might be a bit misleading, what I mean is that we deserve the right to have friday night games returned to us against Collingwood and possibly Essendon*.

The game on the weekend was a case in point. Essendon* West Coast at Telstra Dome was a shoddy game, our game against Collingwood should have been given the prime friday night spot. I hope we make this request as part of fixturing this year. I personally wouldn't mind 2 friday night games against the filth.

QFT - if no other reason that to hear the boys singing the song.

I hate Friday Night footy for Carlton. Its a pain to get there in time. Its a TV game for me. The only good thing is that if you lose its forgotten about by the Sat afternoon. But that shouldn't be a problem against Collingwood

while we're on this subject, i was watching the replay of the game yesterday and did anyone else notice this pearler from dennis(paraphrased): "mick malthouse is claiming the magpies are suffering from blockbuster fatigue syndrome, BFS, which coincidentally contains the letters BS!"

Cold Winter Friday night game no thanks would prefer a Saturday avo game every time.

The AFL have clearly made Friday night games in Melbourne at Telstra Dome during winter which is a good thing the only game I remember Friday night at the G was Collingwood V Geelong at MCG.

Why does the game need to be a blockbuster to attract people. 80,000 not enough for you

How about Essendon* v Carlton games being covered live on television. That'd be a nice @#$%&! start! I don't care what bloody day, I just don't want to be watching a "near live" broadcast at @#$%&! midnight!!!

Id hate to live anywhere but Melbourne, get the unbelievably delayed Carlton games. At least here its 1 hour delayed max usually. If we win and we dont get to see the song (which we wont), ill be pissed, but if Essendon* win ill be happy that Ch 7 cut to the news.

Actually WA's not a bad place for Carlton coverage to be honest...

We get most 2.00pm Sunday games live including last week's and this weeks game will be live on channel 7 as well :)

Also seen the dockers game live and many of the other Carlton games on free to air (apart from vs. Adelaide, PA etc.)

Next time they play us they must have the following:

At least a 7 day turnaround.

Played sides in the bottom 4 int the 2 games prior to playing us.

Not travelled interstate for at least 4 games before they play us. (not that they travel much anyway)

Us to have the reverse of the above.

Must have Ray Chamberlain as an umpire.

Carlton and Collingwood are the two smallest followed AFL teams in the competition. It could be argued that the Weagles have more support in Victoria

A rivalry which consists 19 years and of Kevin Sheedy twirling a jacket over his head is hands down going to beat the petty rivalry between Carlton and Collingwood which have been going for only 100 years...

As you can see less people would watch the dead rubber between the lowlying Pies and the deflated Blues over a high stakes match where two teams Weagles and Bummers are fighting for a top 8 possy. Well that's my logic as to why anyway.

PS. I think the AFL are IDIOTS. (But I was happy with the Sunday game)

Ditto.

At the very least so we don't have to put up with Channel 7.

Just quietly, I really enjoy the afternoon games - such a fantastic atmosphere. You get the hype & spectacle with a night game which is also great, but there's something pure about an afternoon game, something I'll always enjoy. So I am perfectly happy with the afternoon games.

The coverage in the NT is great also. All the FTA games are live and as a bonus there are no ad breaks during the quarters. We also get the team songs at the end of the game. :-D

Saturday arvo is the greatest time to defeat collingwood. After the game it allows you to go out, get drunk and celebrate. Friday night is working all day then too tired to go out, saturday night is too late too go out for some people and not enough time to drink and sunday your gonna have to have a drunk-less celebration because work next day.

saturday arvo is perfect, go to pub after the game, start drinking all evening and go crazy at night achieving maximum celebration and you have sunday to recover.

Can I just say, Blockbusters are natural beasts that the AFL cannot manufacture and therefore all our games against the likes of Collingwood, Essendon* and Richmond at the very least are "big" games by nature.

2nd, there is no doubt in my mind, Saturday arvo at the "G" is the best football day possible.
