I thought he looked the most relaxed in front of a camera I had seen last night. He's always handled the media well, but has rarely looked really, really comfortable. Last night he just seemed happy to talk. I think he feels like he is in a good place at Carlton.

Yep, agreed.

And the comments on his self-assessment and so on are astute as well. However, asking him to loosen up is off the mark I reckon. The whole point is that he has loosened up. He is aware that football is something he is good at and enjoys, but he also knows playing the game can not last forever.

So, just as he was preparing for his footy career early on when he saw the perils of getting sucked in by media hype, now he is preparing his life for after football by not consuming his life with footy every waking hour.

We've been blessed by Judd, just as the Eagles were. Rather than scrutinise everything he does, we should simply enjoy his presence at our club while we have it. He will be a shooting star that will have a lasting impact far beyond anything he cares for. This does not make him, or us, any less worthwhile.

Enjoy the moment, Judd is capable of leading us to some dizzying heights. In doing so, if he chooses to have a "different" life outside of football, so be it.

As observed, he is cut from a different cloth, both in his ability to play the game and his ability to live life.

I think his parents would be fascinating guests for On the Couch.
