Hello my fellow TC'ers.

Long time reader, first time poster.

Any TC'ers witnessed the fight that broke out behind the Carlton cheer squad(M1/M2) area at the Blues/Pies game after the final siren.

IMO i don't mind a bit of verbal stouches against the opposing team but this fight included a bloke getting knocked out to the floor and 2 blokes with blood over their faces.

It wasn't a good sight especially with family & kids around. This was the only negative on what was a great day for blues supporters.

Have a good one!

Expect more of this from Essendon* and ninthmond supporters. They will be filthy that we're starting to look good again.

I'd suggest the Carlton rivalries will be come quite dangerous.

Yes, and what about the scumbag that kept spitting at Fev? Should be banned for life. Must be known to Collingwood as it was in their so-called fanclub. What lowlifes.

I really hope it doesn't become the norm Duke.

It's fun to have a bit of banter during and after the game but there's absolutely no need for violence.

I think it was 2 blues supporters v 2 pies supporters.

The Blues supporter was the last man standing.

Obviously... :-D

(not condoning violence...)

A hardline approach like that of the EPL wouldn't hurt our game.

Agreed. I have always loved the fact that AFL supporters collectively recognised the line between banter and violence and there was an underscoring agreement between all fans that we never crossed the line....I think their needs to be a zero tolerance approach to volience at the football, would hate to see a couple of incidents snowball into something worse.

Joffa has defence already prepared.

Fev was on fire and he was trying to put it out.

It most definitely would hurt the game.

AFL is a family game. Unlike Rugby League, or Soccer, AFL has a large proportion of female fans, and large groups of families attending.

To start segregating fans would hurt the good-natured rivalries between fans.

One of the things I love so much about our game is that you can see a large group of fans heading to the 'G, and that group can consist of supporters of both sides, all having a fun time with each other, as well as attending the footy.

To start separating fans would remove that.

I hope I don't see it in my lifetime.

Sorry KK, I wasn't so much referring to segregation (on of the great things about our game as a spectator sport), but long-term bans for brawler and thugs who drink too much and argue points with their fists...

Ah, fair point.

In that case, I agree totally.

The "I want to go to the footy to yell and scream and get pissed and punch on" types have to be shut out of the game wherever possible.
