Ummm,.........errrrr.........where are we gonna put em? LOL!

Walker, apparently, might be back as early as a week or 2. Who the hell are we gonna drop to get him in the side?

Armfield?
Russell?
Bentick?
Wiggens?
Fisher?

Sure...... they each have their knockers/critics but each one has played a vital role for their team in the last couple of weeks.

Tough decision huh?

Your thoughts?

I think they both have to come back through the Bullants.

All those guys you list have put in big time over the last couple of weeks and that is the culture we want to keep building.

IF YOU PUT IN EVERY WEEK WE'LL LET YOU WEAR THE NAVY BLUE!

Give Walker at least a week or two in the Bullants and prove his fitness.

Who to drop for him though.. very good question to ask actually ... a month ago I would have been screaming to drop Russell but he has improved out of site .. good on Ratts for sticking with him though.

I actually can't pick someone to be honest as everyone is playing well .. what about Setanta? Even he is playing really well

You have to think about Bower and Bannister, and who to drop for these guys as well

A tough one, and especially after a win like that, its tempting to say "no change". 1AW is in our top 6-7 players, so he'd have to come in, but Hoops.....not so sure.

For me:

IN: 1AW
OUT: CHIEF
EMERG: HOOPS

chief stays - he has done enough to warrant continued selection this past month.

its a tough one and what a luxury to have

i think banno is worthy of a spot too based on performances earlier in the year

DEPTH !!

something all good teams have

This is exactly what makes a strong club.

You can often tell the strength of the team you are up against by who sits on the bench at the first bounce.

A bloke like Walker on the bench itching for a crack at is a sign we are on the way to becoming a real force again.

Anyone know when he is really coming back?

Walks straight back in, no question. DOA said he took the red uniform back to Echuca, and that's where it should stay. Hoops will be down on fitness with his hip so the Ants should be the place to get the kms into the legs.

Gee Walks is going to be one dangerous player when he comes back... even got me excited

As for Houla, no room for him

Let's be fair to 1AW: he's too good a player to have him back early and be the weak link coz he's down on match fitness after such a long time off. Let him play in the Ants for a week or 2 and rip it up whilst getting back in top shape.
Remember we're gonna lose a fit young hard nut for him to come back in (a bit of depth again is lovely, isn't it? :)), so let's give Tex the time to come back in properly and really tear it apart for the Navy Blue.

he's had no pre season so a little pre mature to rush him in. he should focus this year getting his fitness and match fitness to peak levels through the bullanrs and then play him say last five rounds of the season.

comes down to who we are playing against, if the team has a 'power forward' you keep Setanta in, if not he could be swapped for Walker, otherwise I'm afraid it's either Wiggins or Armfield, tough call.

edit: actually I reckon we could maybe leave Hampson out even?

I'd say Walkers had a very long preseason. Fitness in general won't be a problem, match fitness another thing. I'm sure having him in the team play 60-70% of the game would be perfect. Slowly build that up after a period of time.

I'd play him forward. He'd give great forward line pressure along with Eddie as well as another marking option. When his match fitness gets to a level required to run for 80-90% of the game then release him to a wing.

He's too good a player to have in the magoos.

We could always go back to 2 rucks. Maybe leave hampson out for a week slot walker in and take it from there.

I am also keen to have a look at anderson so i wouldnt mind he and Grigg having a bit of a rotate through 1's and 2's.

Developement of players is still key and should not be overlooked over the next few months even with finals being a chance.

It would be great to have Bower, grigg, anderson, brown all at the same ability with the same amount of experience.

Bring 'em back thru the 'Ants and he who earns it gets it .. no one should be guaranteed a spot given the performances these last few weeks ..

We are currently playing with 3 ruckmen and I think that perhaps Hampson will be sacrified for the run and carry of Walker. I think Houlihan has a much tougher task of getting into the team.

Talk of trading walker i think is absurd and would be disappointed if this was occured. Houlihan on the otherhand unfortunately may be sacrificied.

I agree, but 'Seniority' seems to have always had a bearing on selection at Carlton.

Which suggests that Hoops will come straight back in ... which will be do his detriment .. they need the match practise: it won't hurt, unless it aggrivates the injuries ...
