I had to smile when in the last #2 was a metre from goal on his own waiting for the ball to come out of the pack about 5 metres away. The ball didn't come out and was eventually cleared away. #1 was in, under and around the packs all day. No-one in our club, including the much-maligned with a long-term groin injury, is as soft as that #2. Whereas, #1 just makes me :-D

Agree

ironically Thomas is the type of player we could use to take us to the next level... except, you know, in a different vessel

that explosive speed and confidence is what we need.... throw in some defensive pressure and he'd be awesome.

I wonder if Aaron Davey is out of contract?

Players like him don't win you premierships.

They might add that bit of flair but there is no use cloggin your list with them...they have Didak, Davis, Medhurst and Thomas. All of em have that 'touch' about them but none have really reached that consistency needed to take them all the way.

one or 2 don't hurt with a list of more steady, ball winning types

Luckily we've got a player who is both :-D

Players like Thomas may be 100 game players but they're rarely 200 game players.

Murph is a 200 game player who will play in premierships.

Thomas might take mark of the year or win goal of the year.
