I would like to nominate Carlos as a Pro.

After goaling in the 3rd quarter Travis Cloke ran up to Carlos and sleadged him something shocking, screaming at him that he was a "Fu@%ing dumb S$@t"

Cloke did not even get a sniff for the rest of the game.

Also, Carlos's disposal is really top notch. Pretty much hit a target every time.

The only CON was having to keep a lid on it at the end out of respect for the Missus, a filth supporter.

Pro: Gibbs leadership.

Just as he dragged Thornton away from a scuffle with Nathan Brown at half-time in Round 1, it was Gibbs again who pulled Setanta aside and had a word with him after Clokes goal.

I hope he continued that leadership and gave Cloke a gobful after the game while pointing to the scoreboard!

Possibly my most enjoyable win in person since 99.

PROS

1. It's clear to me the boys have complete faith in the coaching staff. The persistence and lack of panic when they went down by four goals in the third was fantastic.

2. Fitness

3. Armfield - sacrificed himself to set up that shot at goal - he deserved that one to be slotted. He's a find.

4. Murph imposing himself for four quarters in a blockbuster. Collingwood can keep their skinny highlight reel - Daisy's bullshit, flaccid checkside which resulted in a goal to Carlton sums him up. Hope you enjoy the goal of the year awards Collingwood - that's all you'll get out of him. Oh but that hair.....

5. Judd's last quarter. Thanks, we will have him.

6. Carlos - he is a backman Ratts. He smashed Cloke today.

7. Jamo slotted stright back in.

8. I think it's great that Gibbs is able to shut down some dangerous players, I just hope we develop some others to handle that role so we can turn him loose.

9. Hadley, AW, Bower, Banno to come back in.

PROS

1. Skills in the first half were diabolical.

2. That wind was COLD today...

Pro - everything Carlton...
Pro 2: Rang Little Miss House (credit to Wojee!) with 2 minutes to go to make sure she was watching at Nannas.... got told it was already on - and heard her cheering on Scotto's goal... MY little girl now follows Carlton coz she loves them, not just because they're Dad's team.

Pro 3: My dad is a Collingwood supporter..... say no more... :)

Pro 4: We're clearly experimenting with some set moves - there's a sublime tap from Hammer (I 99% think) to Judd where he basically reverses his hand to normal for a beautiful little tap.... Didn't come off due to the super close marking on CJ, but nice to see....

Pro 5: Army.... both his game - and the song afterwards. There's a good shot at GSP that I would love to get mounted for him - he'll struggle to have have a better day than that outside GFs, Wedding days and Kids... :)
http://www.gspimages.com.au/image/?image_id=152633

Pro 6: WIGGO!!!

Pro 7: That everyone but one person respected Buckley during the lap. (according to him in pre-match)

Con: Coverage here raced to an end after the song - made the whole thing go away too soon! :) :)

Yeah - the Buckley thing... he represented himself today - let the tribalism go to thank him for his efforts...there's plenty of time for tribalism without having to be classless! :)

Ratts - On the replay, after a goal is kicked in the Final quarter Ratts gets up, gives the fist pump and you can see him say, "C'mon Blues."

Beat a full strength Collingwood (Rocca makes them weaker) while missing 2 or 3 first teamers, ourselves.

Con:
Can't think of any

Mostly all covered by others here, but I want to add my 2 cents

Bentick
- He is back to his best after a couple quiet year - he is our in and under player at the moment - tough and just gets in and gets the ball - deserving of Ratten's #7

Setanta
- His disposal is really good - he towelled up their Cloke today - his kicks out of defense and coolness under pressure was great - he needs to stay back there

Cloke
- Plays his guts out - love him.

Armfield
- amazing find this guy - tough, skilled

Jordan
- He is making amazing progress - he is getting tough, taking marks and disposing well

Of course there are all our star on top, but these guys should be recognised for their efforts - they are stepping up to support our stars.

Not a chance, Cazz. Well...can I at least say that I hope the powers that be let them continue to do their 'work' this year.

The job is not finished yet. 8)

wait for everyone to go to bed then fire up again?

let it go, she's not as bad as you may think and had the decency to turn up and congratulate us on the win.

I never said anything of the such-which. No one said anything negative about her in this thread but people wish to defend her anyway which is strange.

All the pussy-footing is odd. One poster went too far (and that was not me) and that was after we were all instructed on how much of a good-egg she is supposed to be.

Mandy is a member of this board she is not a guest so she should be able to look after herself. Few others are given the same courtesy as she is by the majority. I don't have a problem with her but it is no wonder that she gets such a strong reaction sometimes when every little bit of banter between rivals is so heavily scrutinised.

Let me find out what she is like as a poster for myself otherwise I'll resent it. It is human nature. :?

Pros:

Setanta at back - awesome all game. that goal to travis cloke was because carlos ran to an unmarked man running at him, 2 on 1. He acted on instinct as he knew he was smashing cloke all day and didnt give him any respect whatsoever in kicking the goal as travis is a hack and carlos might have be telling him all day. Carlos didnt bite afterwards but had the last laugh. This was carlos's only issue all day. didnt miss a target and was in the right spots to spoil and contest. Well done

Army - Some may understand some may laugh at me. Im a union, league player and army is showing supreme skill in that area. Ball control - positioning and contests and tackles, support (following his players close for short hand balls) and line breaking and of course putting your body on the line are 2nd nature to the guy, I was wondering if the AFL had ever expiermented with players like this. Keiren Jack (sp) is another one playing for sydney who is the son of the great Balmain (now West Tigers) Australian Test player Garry Jack who has converted over.

Con - he knocked over his water bottle :(

Pro - everyone and everything

Pro: Fevs goal from the ground, I ripped through the record to the GOAL of the week and pointed to tarkyn lockyers effort in the air and ripped it out of the magazine in front of collingwood supporters.

Pros: waving goodbye loudly and carelessly for my safety afterwards with much gusto to the losers who left early and singing the song loudy with a few drunks during the 4th. Some people tell me this is the way it used to be, all Ive known is the last 5 years.

Pro/con: Guy next to me was quiet all game, No afl team motifs and insignia and I could see him secrectly cheer on collingwood efforts. But by end of the game he was much louder for carlton.. conversion perhaps ? by what he witnessed ? YES!

Con: no song from the rooms booming around the MCG :(
- I havent seen it, so advise if army got to finally get in the middle

I will not rest untill I know.

I saw the game over here in the UK on setanta sports and Army definitely was in the middle when they sang the song :-D

Pros

Russell - Stay out of your shell mate, you can play!! (I am in shock)
Murphy
Judd
Fev
Jamison
Waite
Armfield
Self Belief

Cons
Carlton "supporters" in this thread putting Fev in as a con. 22 disposals from full forward, 8 goals 6, plenty of freakish acts & clearly BOG. Get a freaking clue you lot!

Pros:

Our kids showed their kids what it actually means to be footballers instead of over-hyped media stars.

Wayne Hughes. I still have my doubts on 2004. But going through it since then, I'm prepared to say Murphy (tick), Bower (tick), Edwards (possible tick), Gibbs (tick), Hampson (tick), Grigg (big tick), Austin (possible tick), Anderson (tick), Kreuzer (tick), Browne (tick), Armfield (tick). And that's without counting rookie drafts. Sounds like the only one who may be struggling is Benjamin. Great recruiting effort. Where's BO?

T-Bird letting Didak know he is a piece of scum

Setanta letting Cloke know he is a w@nker

Grigg and Armfield for playing magnificently through some apparently serious knocks. That's the spirit I want to see.

Beating Collingwood twice in a year. Take that you feral morons. Come back to us when you have a decent side. You're going to be our lap dogs for the next decade.

Walker, Hadley, and Bannister due back soon.

Browne, Pfeiffer, Edwards, Joseph, and Austin putting pressure on to play in the seniors. This is how you make a successful AFL side.

Cons:

Thought Stevens was rubbish... hopefully it was just a down day.

Gee..it is good to see someone so passionate about their club though...he'll be hurting and blaming the umpiring...Collingwood through and through, Carla's upset because she knows that in keeping in the true Collingwood spirit, he should go home and beat her.

Boy, am I going to have a fun week..already had my first free coffee!
