A fascinating player, at the same time one of the most overly criticised and overly praised players on the list.

Hope he plays well this weekend.

A bit like Houla in that respect.

So the MC are judging players on their draft positions rather than attributes and scope for improvement now??? Come on, give us a break.

Riley: Let's give Pfeiff a go this week.

Ratts: Nah he was only picked up number 2 in the PSD. We'll stick with Jordy - he was a number 9 in the National.

Riley: Don't forget Pfeiff was a number 12 when Adelaide drafted him!

Ratts: Shit - you're right, Pfeiff it is then. Hang on - 9 still beats 12! Better stick with Jordy.

Riley: You're the boss Ratts.

Ratts: You don't get to be head coach without being able to separate your 9s and your 12s Mark.

17, not 12

Ah well then, that makes JR at 9 nearly twice the player

Heard both Riley and Crossica talking about him this week on the radio - both indicated they thought he was a really good young guy - who has taken longer than they had hoped to come on - both thought he has still a long way to go but like his speed - versatility - size about 6 foot 2 and strength
Were pleased after 2 shocking handballs in last weeks match -didnt go into his shell but keep perservering
Good to see we are backing the young guys even if they are taking a while to come on -a work in progress this guy -needs more time and confidence

I like JR (waiting for the backlash), he moves well and will get more dangerous with confidence.

That is all JR is missing...confidence.

I respect the MC for showing him some faith.

Keep truckin JR

Walker was getting criticised too. Hopefullly he really flourishes under Ratten and a good team.

One word to describe Russell

Superstar

Superstar, Please, are you serious or what.
If you are joking , that is very funny.
If you are being for real, you need to get near a mirror, and have a good hard look at yourself.

Superstar-Chris Judd.
Superstar- Jonathon Brown.

They are the essence ot the word superstar.

Er....... yes.......... Superstar would probably be the last word that comes to mind when describing JR.

Good player........ not yet, but maybe.
Average player...........more along the lines of where he's at.

Superstar???? Hmmmm...... couldn't be further away from!

No superstar Ryan but have had a few worker /bluecollar/spear carriers even in our premiership sides - bortlotto kennedy Mckenzie hogg robertson (shane)
JR is no superstar but still can play vital role in climb up the ladder - has one ingredient that most of rest of team lack - TRUE PACE -
Lets give the guy a chance -our coaches and match committeee are giving him a chance maybe the more learned supporters should give him a chance

Russell's game against Port.

First quarter - Horrendous!
Second quarter - Quiet
Third quarter - Quiet
Fourth quarter - Superstar!

In that last quarter, was super important...one of our most important players in that term, along with Simpson, Judd, Murphy, Stevens, Kreuzer...

Great last quarter you mean

Perspective

He had to do something eventually didnt he

Who was his opponent
where was the ball virtually all of the last quarter
Where did Russell play

Very lucky to be playing at all

Overall a disappointment
Had to produce something

Lets not fall into the trap of pumping up players for 20 minutes of footy which was all our way

flower Hell

I dont want to become a club which has names on lockers that are only there because

the club was shit
the list management were dumb

Houlihan is there already
Good on Russell for finally showing something for a whole quarter 8)

But he still has question marks all over him with his kicking and decision making

Its like the Wiggo argument

You play 90 odd games you are going to some good things

Still reckon Wiggo should be delisted at the end of the year

I dont want to become a Richmond which allow the likes of Tivendale and Bowden collectively play 450 odd games.

Lets she Jordan play consistent footy for the rest of the year and play well when the team is struggling

Bit premature Verbs

Heaven help us if Russell plays as well as Bowden and wins two AA jumpers.

I might not read TC again.....

Yep 240 games of non contested footy with half his kicks going sideways

Dual all Australian

No arguments there

overrated though

Bowden is a proven matchwinner 8)

No mistakes from Rusty today

Continued on from last 1/4 last week.

Tackle on Medhurst(?) was fan-f@#$ing-tastic

His tackle on O'Bree in the last was a cracker too.

Russell is developing beautifully.

He's doing what's been asked of him.

In his first true year of development too.

18 possessions with 89% efficiency. Must have been the 'Think Positive' chat I had with him at OO yesterday :P

Well done Jordy. Keep it up and you can soon give the knockers Teddy Whitten's special words of wisdom. :-D
