we are 5-6 now.

really the next 4 games are very winnable IMO
Collingwood(match up well against them)
Essendon* (plain shit, there full forward is a girl)
Richmond (the only one i'm worried about, not that good but to be fair the ladder really doesnt show their form this year)
StKilda(overrated + we owe them BIG)

all very winnable games ^^

Sydney is a no
We match up well against the Doggies, but no
and we didnt disgrace our selves against Adelaide (and we managed to beat there brothers, cousins or both) but i dont think we can win there twice

Port at the dome is im ticking win

so so far its 10-9. losses to Sydney, Dogs, Adelaide

the last 3 rounds are write offs
North
Brisbane at the Gabba
and Hawthorn

My prediction is we finish with 10-12
not enough for finals.

No point making finals this year. Will make our draw "harder" next year by playing other finalist more often. Still if we make it, I won't complain! :)

I would have thought that playing the better teams more often is a good thing.

Would you rather be a finalist by playing any teams or by playing the 'good' teams?

I LIKE THOSE ODDS! :P

I'm with danii on this, a win against the Pies = getting the family to upgrade to gold premium reserved seating, in order to be garunteed finals tickets when the inevitable happens...

Finals are an outside chance in 2008 - but still a chance.

It doesn’t matter much if we don’t make the 8 in 2008 - but it will be a bonus if we do.

The one thing I do believe is that the young Carlton players will adapt quickly to finals football when they get there.

The closest thing that I can compare our future premiership to will be the way that Essendon* marched into the finals with a young team in 1993 and trounced Carlton in the GF.

But even this is a poor comparison to what lies ahead - because maybe our GF team in the near future will be younger than theirs was all those years ago.

Our boys will be bold and brave - dedicated, determined and single minded in the glorious footballing quest that will be placed before them.

They will be young, brave and fearless heroes who are eager and ready to dare and win the fight that they have on front of them, a fight that they will win despite what appears to be overwhelming odds stacked against them...

But they will play in that finals series with a sense of reckless abandon - in a daring and attacking style of play that senses that it has everything to gain and nothing to lose.

So this GF will be one of the most wonderful in the history of our club - a match to be treasured forever by all those that love Carlton. Our players will be immortalized in a similar way to those in 1979, 70 or even in 1945.

Paul Bower will goal from a bold attack from half back - and Bryce Gibbs will cap off a wonderful year with a premiership medallion. I also desperately hope that Setanta will be there as well - because it would be such a triumph for him to be a part of this wonderful victory.

We do need to remember that the secret to our win will be the fact that our coach is not only an experienced finals player himself - but unlike other coaches, he has the luxury of drawing upon a wealth of support and advice from past players and coaches if he needs it.

The same assistance - will also prove invaluable in mentally preparing the players for this match too.

The past players will only be too pleased to assist in this way where they can.

Despite all the troubles that were experienced, even Denis Pagan will be seen on TV, wearing sunglasses at that match - with a knowing smile that he will have had a hand in the development of these young players.

It will be a bright sunny spring day when Carlton players hold aloft their first but their clubs 17th cup and the troubles of the world at that time will seem to be a million miles away from everyone...

The barbs we have recently heard from the lips of Mark Williams are only the start of a torrent of vitriol and abuse that will come our way from Carlton haters when they react with an irrational jealousy and hatred when it is quite plain to all that we have success very early in the development cycle of our young playing group.

It will be amusing to watch people from other teams resort to desperate and sometimes quite stupid attempts to belittle the achievements of our boys.

When we win our 17th cup - the hatred from others will flow freely, taking on a life of its own.

All you will have to do will be to laugh - and remember that the 5 or 6 long years of suffering will end with a glorious and triumphant finale..

The only issue I have is Mini-Munga gets quoted more than me and starts a thread and gets it to 2 pages - I start a thread and get tumbleweeds.

1. If we win enough of our next four games to be in the 8 I think we may be hard to remove.
2. Games against Swans, Lions & Roos could be genuine "8 point games" with a finals berth at stake.
3. HAW in round 22 could be the best time to play them. We might have a lot more to play for that week than them.
4. Whether we make it or not I'd like to finish off the season well such that we can really have something to look forward to next year. Winning just one of our last seven would not be too flash.

It appears "The Monga" was booked in for gender re-assignment surgery recently and has had his ****** removed.

Young kids tend to taper off after a long season, I think we will miss out and finish about tenth......

The upcoming split round will greatly help both young and old on our list to freshen up for the run home. Winning breeds confidence and enthusiasm. Anythings possible...

They do Elwood, but I believe that we have been working towards the players fitness getting better and not tapering off rather than in previous years.
