Now I know some of you guys think some of us are too negative and whatever.

And your right

I was pleasantly suprised by the boys fantastic effort in the last quarter

It showed real guts to win after a woeful first 3 quarters

Our form over the last month has been poor since the West Coast game

We seemed to have lost our way yet somehow managed to pluck a great win

But lets not forget we did play a bunch of chokers who squandered a similar lead to Brisbane and were missing their best player in Shaun Burgoyne

Its amazing though that when the guys got a sniff of it players played with purpose we havent seen in a while.

Confidence in any form of life is so important

If we put a shit effort in against the filth I reckon that quarter will be partially wasted

The Pies looked fairly ordinary to me today

We can beat them and have a great chance of winning the next 3 as well(Ess, Rich, Saints)

Sorry to take the gloss of the stirring effort.

I was at the pub watching with some mates and we yelled ourselves horse

It was awesome and I havent felt so good after a game for a while but

The first 3 quarters were some of the. worst footy we have played

Just a little balance here

Well weighted post. Didn't know you could wax postive.

We have to keep the win in perspective, a game by all rights we shouldn't have won, but then Port aren't an insipid team - they just played a rotten quarter.

Carlton of old would have dug deep but made a few fundamental mistakes to go down by a goal or two - the boys really took the game on though and that was great to see.

One quarter won't cut it against the Pies. They were shockin' today, no shocking actually they just played very ordinary football - we wont get the same side next week... they'll still be stinging from us defeating them earlier this year - their last loss actually... stringing another win on now, against a finals contender no less will really do wonders for the side - and will make the Essendon*/Richmond games much more interesting.

Those first 3 quarters were pretty woeful but to pull off a win like that - interstate is a bloody massive positive, winning ugly - what a step forward.

we still have some serious issues to iron out and i was ready to kill during that game but that last quarter was bloody impressive - when we string together a whole game with that vigour look out.

Plan B appeared to come into effect in that 4th quarter - very heartwarming to see semblances of planning.

Also calling Port chokers takes the gloss off us and gives them too much credit

we beat them into submission - we choked them - they didnt choke themselves.

oh yeah my lovechild JR - shocking first half but WOW that last quarter in particular - string that together consistently and we have a gun - love how he rode the bump on the far wing and got up and drilled a lovely long kick to Fev - so relieved he got off the report as i feared any suspension would have crushed him.

I think that was a good post.

First 3 quarters werent good, but we werent as bad as the scoreboard suggested. Ratts was right, we were winning much of the contested ball in the first 3 quarters just couldnt find a way to goal.

A lot of the last quarter was sowed in the first 3, as we were already doing a lot right.

Agreed - alot of us in here fall into the trap of "we can make the 8" etc and we may well, but we're such an extraordinarily young, small team, we may well get smacked a couple more times before seasons end and be staring down the barrell of 12th or 13th or worse! Probably not.

But whatever the final result, the team has taken massive steps this year, and it's not all about Judd either!

Tell me it's not great fun just being on board and enjoying a sometimes bumpy ride with this lot?? It's sooo much easier to share the highs and lows with Ratts and co. than it ever was with Dear Denis.

Win or lose, i'm loving my footy this year, and i haven't been able to say that for a loooonnnng time!

QFT and I've only been supporting since late into the 06 season
Made my first colours purchase - finally proud enough to wear the colours to the game regardless - couldn't be said last year that's for sure

One or two boys were playing for their AFL careers on Sunday no two ways about that.

The challenge for those boys is to tap into the self belief and mental strength they obviously have and channel that into consistent 4 quarter performances week in week out.

This time last year, we would have lost that game by 8 goals. The improvement IMO, will be gradual, but make no mistake, we are on the rise.

Many games this year we would of lost by ten goals easily if it was 2007.

I just want 8 wins, anything more is a bonus for me.
