Most would have seen the wack on the Port player...will he go for it? He would obviously have some points carrying over.

He gets frustrated (rightly so given we keep bombing the ball to the tallest blokes on the ground in Lade and Brogan) but you still don't go around belting blokes. You wouldn't see Pavlich, Franklin or Brown doing that when they have a loose man (or two) sitting in front of them.

No, I don't think so. It was a stupid bit of play though.

Fev is great at putting a big target on his head, which would be fine if he was smart enough to not get so easily sucked in.

To be fair though, he has tried pretty hard today and kept his cool where in the past he may have flipped. But, he needs to do it for a full game. When he is being so heavily marked he also needs to drag his opponents away from the ball. Fish has raised his game a bit and if he can find some ball closer to goal we might be a chance, slim as it would be.

got a club with minimal talent and you want to get rid of one of the few players that is any good.

melvey ... mate, i know your pain and anger and frustration ... but do we REALLY need to know every single thought you have while the boys are struggling?

i can understand you perhaps needing to share your pent-up feelings, but can you think of the "less is more" principle ... can't you just scream that sort of stuff at the telly like i do?

According to the Rod Jamison and co. on 3LO 774, there was nothing in it...a stray elbow. And, whilst I'm at it, gee, Melvey, go on and take the whole Carlton team to task....go on....

Seriously the stations that cover these incidents need to take a good hard look at themselves. On the channel 7 news, the precursor to the vision was something like "And Carlton star Brendan Fevola could be scruitinised this week for th following hit" HIT? He pulled out of the hit and hit the side of the blokes hip with the fleshy part of his forearm. The Port player didn't blink. not a fist, not a punch, nothing.

How precious they are becoming.

funny how we keep making comparisons to soccer players when each week all these big, brazen oz rules footy players keep falling to the ground feigning for frees ...

perhaps this is just a universal side-effect of professional sport

Posters will please take more care in the way they critiscise our players....and also in how they respond to other posters.

There were a possible 5 bannings to be handed out in this thread. I'm in such a good mood after the win that they didn't happen.

I agree with people who said "nothing in it".
Forearm made contact to body not first or hand. Gave away a free and that is all.
