Look - Franklin's a great player and all, but if we didn't get him the supply, he'd be next to useless.... :-D

We'd be alot better. Even when out of form and overweight he was a target there and kicked goals. We'd have to be better. He played pretty well when he came back, even took a hanger against the Roos. But his knee was stuffed and he couldn't train so our choices weren't there. We had to dump him We've struggled without a CHF this year. Whitnall would have at least taken a man, meaning less focus on Fev and lot of pressure removed from Fisher as he is a great 3rd tall but not big enough for the 2nd tall role. CHF is our biggest hole. Sometimes you don't know how much you miss someone until they're gone but, as I said, we had no choice. If his knees were good he'd still be here.

I haven't seen the champ on the injury list? How long will it be until he returns. When we get Walker and Red back we will be a far better side.

We could have Whitnall, Fev, Brown (the Brisbane one), Franklin, Carey, Jezza, Dunstall, G. Ablett (snr) etc in our forward line and the result would only be a little better because WE DON'T HAVE A DOMINATING RUCKMAN!

Until we get a White or a Sandilands level ruckman we're gonna struggle and it makes having Judd in our lineup almost a real waste in some ways.

You know who we really need...

Madden!

What is the point of this thread, are we always going to look backwards when we have a loss

Why not start another thread, 'Could we have played better if we had Lance in the team?'

Thanks for listening Budzy

Earlier today I played a top of the ladder clash against Brisbane, both teams undefeated going into round 8. We won by 21 goals, Fev kicked 12 and Houlihan 6, though Houlihan's effort wasn't enough to get him any votes from Christie Malthouse.

Having Whitnall in the team has been great. I have also found myself switching him from attack to defence during games, and put him in the middle a few times, or off the wing.
